Rep. Rashida Tlaib increasingly linked to anti-semites

IT’s what defines “Palestinian” vs “Israeli Arab”.

Got tossed off of their land? Yep, that’s what happens when you take the wrong side in a war and lose or become a terrorist/terrorist supporter/enabler.

Sometime @WildRose it pays to read something other than propaganda.

Lol. Wrong again.

In general they sided with the invading Arab armies in 1948. The Arab League lost the war and with it the Palestinian homesteads.

After the Arab rejection of the 1947 Partition Plan the Arab forces invaded the newly declared nation of Israel. They were defeated. Following the war an armistice was signed that left the various combatants at the territory they had taken during the war. Jordan held East Jerusalem and the West Bank, Egypt held Gaza, and Syria held the Golan Heights. Israel took the rest of the 1947 territory that was partitioned to the Arabs (which they violently refused to accept).

Then 1967 happened. Syria and Egypt mobilized for war and managed to drag King Hussein of Jordan into the nonsense after the shots broke out. Israeli Mossad agents through contacts in Jordan (Elements of the Jordanian government had fairly good relations with their Israeli counterparts; in addition, Hussein was always reluctant to fight the Israelis due to their military superiority but had to maintain his position in the League) managed to learn about the Arab League war plans and launched a preemptive strike.

The Israelis won and as a consequence took control of East Jerusalem, the West Bank, Gaza, and Golan. Egypt and Israel settled their differences in 1979 and Jordan settled its issues in regards to the 67 territories in 1994. This leaves Syria as the only former combatant still laying claim to any of the 67 territories.

The Palestinian leadership never held any claim to the territory they demand. The various Arab states held claim but lost them as spoils of war.

Q: How many palestians were alive in 1967?

A: not many.

Why should the current residents pay for the sins of their fathers?

Allan

Because they keep trying to kill off the Israelis? Ever consider that possibility.

You can’t launch thousands of rockets and mortars, suicide bombers and gunmen into the civilian population of Israel without paying a high price.

By the same token why should the children receive territory that was never their fathers’ to begin with?

The Palestinians never held control of the land that became modern Israel. The Ottomans held it until 1918. Then they collapsed and the French and British divided up the spoils with Britain receiving “Palestine” as a mandated territory by the League of Nations. Then the British announced they were terminating their mandate and left it up the UN to decide what to do with it.

The UN came up with a very acceptable partition plan that provided both the Palestinian Jews and the Palestinian Arabs with good land (the Arabs were actually getting a better deal in terms of farm land) and Jerusalem was to be administered directly by the United Nations with Christians, Jews, and Muslims having free access to their respective holy sites in the international city. The Jewish leadership accepted the plan wholeheartedly and then it was given to the Arab leaders to sign off on.

Unfortunately for everyone involved until this day the Arab leadership decided that the plan was unacceptable. They demanded the creation of an Arab administered state with “guarantees of safety and representation” for the Palestinian Jews in accordance with Islamic law. Which as everyone knows is basically second class citizenship for non Muslims.

The UN was unable to enforce the new partition so it was left up to the British, who still held forces in Palestine, to implement it. The British were going through an economic crisis caused by the after effects of World War II and basically said ■■■■■ Palestine, we’re washing our hands of this mess.”

So the Israelis declared independence after it became clear that the Arabs were mobilizing to take Jewish held lands by force.

Also like Rose said they could just stop launching terrorist attacks on Israeli civilians, come to the negotiating table as a defeated power, and negotiate a formal settlement to the insane situation caused by the Arab leadership all the way back in 1948.
