Wildlife don’t know about the time change. So be extra careful driving in rural/country areas going to and from work for next couple weeks.
It seems I always lose a friend every other year because of it.

So to be clear, when you say you lose a friend are you referring to a human friend, or one of your wildlife friends?

Those deers ■■■■■■■ have it out for me. I don’t hit them they hit me once on a motorcycle
Deer that are comfortable around humans are one of life’s most beautiful things. My grandad spent his career at a paper mill and they had a big environmentalist program. The deer around the mill were all shockingly comfortable around people. One day while visiting him at work one actually walked up to me and let me pet it. I’ll never forget that memory. They’re truly beautiful creatures.
That’s literally the only reason I don’t have a bike. I’ve hit enough deers in cars (funnily enough never had one totaled by a deer though) that I’ve got some weird PTSD about it. And everytime I always get the money to buy a cheap used Honda Shadow (one of my favorite bikes) I back out because I think about all the times I’ve hit deer in cars and imagine how much worse it would have been on a bike.
I tell em not to get to comfortable…I might have a change of heart. ![]()
