2020 Democratic presidential hopeful Cory Booker promoted his strict vegan diet during a recent interview published this week; bizarrely claiming the planet can no longer “sustain” the human consumption of meat and cheese.

Booker was speaking with VegNews when he was asked to discuss his position on animal products and whether they directly contribute to climate change.

“You see the planet earth moving towards what is the Standard American Diet,” said Booker. “We’ve seen this massive increase in consumption of meat produced by the industrial animal agriculture industry.”

“The tragic reality is this planet simply can’t sustain billions of people consuming industrially produced animal agriculture because of environmental impact. It’s just not possible, as China, as Africa move toward consuming meat the same way America does because we just don’t have enough land,” he added.
