QUESTION: What is a Supreme Court Justice’s fundamental job?

Today, a $20 gold coin will cost you at least1000 Federal Reserve one dollar Notes.

Yes, the limit expressed in Federal Reserve Notes is much, much higher.

JWK

Thank you for opening the window and letting sanity in.

According to Google it was worth a little over $500 in 2017.

Again though, you aren’t going to see a case costing less than that go all the way to the Supreme Court.

What is SCOTUS, if not opinions.

They issue opinions on the constitution.

Do you even know what they do?

Allan

500 seems a bit low, but regardless, it’s about the threshold for a jury trial.

We have already gone over this and the fundamental job of a Supreme Court Justice is stated in the Constitution, and in crystal clear language.

A Supreme Court Justice’s fundamental job is to support and defend “this Constitution”, and in doing so is required to follow “the rules of the common law” which requires a Justice to be obedient to the text of the Constitution and enforce its documented legislative intent which gives context to its text.

JWK

Those who reject abiding by the intentions and beliefs under which our Constitution was agree to, as those intentions and beliefs may be documented from historical records, wish to remove the anchor and rudder of our constitutional system so they may then be free to “interpret” the Constitution to mean whatever they wish it to mean.

Crystal clear to you.

My opinion differs from yours.

simple disagreement among citizens.

Its why we have elections.

Allan

And yet judges are appointed, not elected.

SCOTUS Justices are NOT appointed.

They are nominated by an elected Official.

They are confirmed by elected officials.

Allan

In other words, appointed.

The Constitution of the United states says “nominate” not appoint.

All nominated potential Justices dont cut it and make it to be a justice.

  1. Robert Bork.

  2. Harriet Miers

are recent examples of nominees not making the cut.

Allan

You are full of it Allan. It literally says the Senate appoints judges to the Supreme Court in Article II.

Article II, section 2, clause 2

“And he shall Nominate”

good lord do you know how to read?

Allan

Yes apparently you can’t though. The president nominates and with the approval of the Senate they are then appointed. You just quoted it. Try actually reading it.

at least least you now admit it is a nomination process not an appointment one.

Progress.

Allan

We are not talking about “opinions”. We are talking about the actual words in our Constitution.

A Supreme Court Justice’s fundamental job, as stated in the Constitution, is to support and defend “this Constitution”, and in doing so is required to follow “the rules of the common law” which requires a Justice to be obedient to the text of the Constitution and enforce its documented legislative intent which gives context to its text.

JWK

Clearly that’s why Supreme Court judges are listed right along with all the other appointments the Executive does. Because they aren’t appointed. You can’t possibly be this stupid.

His opinions are all he has.

I mean the Constitution literally says SCOTUS judges are appointed and here he is saying they’re not. How can you take anything he says seriously at this point?

Thats exactly what we are talking about. You read the actual words in the constitution one way.

I read them another.

and SCOTUS reads them yet another way.

simple disagreement among citizens of this great nation,

Allan

Clearly says they are nominated.

“shall be nominated”

Thats as clear as the nose on your face.
