More like Trump wishes he had what Putin has. Putin has the most captive audience that “adores” him outside of North Korea.
He’s unrealistic. Putin is a KGB veteran. He was trained to expertly go after someone’s most blaring weakness.
And in these negotiations, he did that. By validating Trump’s worldview. Trump is a total sucker for that. You validate his worldview and he’s going to butter up to you.
Look at all these keyboard experts…all knowing more than Trump.
Meanwhile majority of these so-called experts are sucking on hind tit.

Not when that foreign dignitary is a war criminal who invaded your ally.
In that he promised severe repercussions if Putin didn’t agree to a ceasefire, and now he’s not percussion the repercussions…yeah, that’s a fail.
That he repeated Putins sweet talking about the 2020 election…pretty embarrassing.
That they left notes on the meeting in the printer at teh hotel - yeah. that’s a fail.
That Putin has claimed (but you know, it’s putin) that article 5 style assurances are fine…that’s good. Again, it’s putin, so…
I heard it summarized this way on teh radio.
Going into the meeting, Trump wanted a ceasefire and in its absence, repercussions. He got neither.
Putin wanted to avoid a ceasefire and avoid repercussions. He got both.

If you thought that meeting was going to produce a concrete plan for peace, you’re more gullible than I give you credit for.

Nothing specific. But Trump also hasn’t carried out his threats he made either. So that’s a positive for Putin on the “playing Politik” leaderboard.
That part of it bothers me the least. Because that’s just how international politics go. No matter how much of a scumbag the other guy is. You treat them respectfully, in a similar manner to our own president.
Only guy that didn’t get that level of treatment in the last 300 years was Napoleon. Because the allies literally declared war on him as an individual. So he didn’t get that level of respect.
The sanctions could have been activated within an hour of the discussion clearly going nowhere.
IMO, it looks like Trump was bluffing and Putin called it.
