That is odd. Straight up wealth redistribution.

Yeah, they have to make up for no state taxes.
I certainly wouldn’t go that far but they could easily give up 2/3 or more of the federal lands in the west in a new “land rush” and we’d reap an immeasurable economic benefit from same.
Additionally the tax revenues generated could pretty well wipe out our national debt.
Once federalized there is no tax revenues from that land for local, state, or federal gov’ts and the economic activity on said lands is dramatically minimized or ended completely depending on how such lands are designated.
Demand and the fact so little of it is available for sale and use.

We have both here in NJ. Lucky us.
When I bought my house the estimated taxes were 50% higher than comparable properties. I mentioned this on a golf trip and one of the guys at my club happened to be a real estate attorney. He got my information and filed an appeal to the assessment. Got my taxes reduced - considerably. Now they’re in-line with the other properties. People just don’t know how it easy it is to file an appeal and challenge them.
I had it done for free too. It’s nice knowing people.

Nobody wants ■■■■ BLM land.
That’s an absolutely false comment in every way it can be false.

There are vast areas in the west with undeveloped private land because the demand and infrastructure is not there. The Southwest is harsh and the land that is desirable is developed, or a national park. You are clueless.

Live, operate same thing.
I think there’s some confusion about who fell off of a high horse.

Well, here’s you acting like an expert on income taxes. Both sentences are wrong.
So let’s be clear, your new standard is that if anyone comments on any subject here they are “acting like an expert”.
This is the bar you want to hold yourself to?

How would you interpret your post? You were making declarative statements, and correcting me.
It’s called a conversation, now answer the question you just dodged.

It wasn’t a conversation, you were correcting me with your superior wisdom. Two declarative statements on income taxes. Both of which were ignorant and wrong.

Well thats wonderful. You are doing so well. Your new found humility is refreshing. Sir, I salute you!
Let’s see.

Perhaps you need a dictionary?
It wasn’t me who made my financial success in real estate an issue, I simply replied to his baseless claims with fact.
