Promises Made. Promises Kept

Do DEMs call out promises their Presidents are unable to keep? Come on now be honest!

Microsoft is a multinational company that makes billions, so yes this was a reward to Bill Gates as well.

But yes Trump pretends he’s ā€œpunishingā€ MAGA boogeymen, and MAGAs sign right up for another gift to the oligarchs.

It’s breathtaking how easy it is to play MAGAs.

and if Trump delivers peace in Ukraine 6 months from now will it be a promise kept? or will you complain about it being late?

You’ve already met Norman, but I’ve recently added a pair of frothing camels.

I would like to introduce you to the dynamic duo of frothing.

But Trump promised on the first day.

so peace will be bad then… got it.

and he never said the first day, he said in one day. Guess what, the day they sign the accord will be one day.

Yeah, yeah, I know, its weak. Just the same the achievement will be great. Whether or not that achievement is done on day one, or one day.

Doesn’t concern you. Go sit in the corner.

This thread is about winning. Promises made and kept.

I’m impressed by how hard he’s been trying. That’s something presidents tend not to do. Campaign promises are usually just empty words. He’s actually trying to fulfill them.

You know that I was being sarcastic. :astonished:

In earlier threads @Nemesis and I had already discussed this and we kind of agreed that Trump was using hyperbole with his comment regarding how quickly he could end the Ukraine war.

It was within that context that I responded to your post with sarcasm.

How many Presidents would have bothered to hold a thank you rally in Nevada?

Not many if any at all.

Trump is very much a populist so he’s playing that Populist playbook like a charm.

I’ve been thinking about this populist thing. What makes him a ā€œpopulistā€?

What is the differenve between populism and the will of the majority?

His own ideology isn’t really well defined in a box IMO. He’s very much a ā€œby the peopleā€ sort of person. Most people try to push their own ideology and then justify it to try and convert people to their point of view. He really isn’t like that.

It isn’t a bad thing and it’s not unheard of in American politics. Teddy Roosevelt had a similar bent to him.

Ok, but populism is bad, right? So what makes a populist?

i know what he said

and yeah, ā€œcaused itā€ lol. by being weak and unresolved.
