I had a few months on the road with me on the way to South Africa, where I spent most of the summer in Johannesburg, before the trip ended in London. On one of the last days of the journey, the plane landed with a sudden crash, and the plane attendant, wearing a tuxedo and glasses, showed me the inside of her car. We drove together for hours in the blistering heat of South Africa to get to the airport in Johannesburg. And then we went to the airport to meet the rest of the group of protesters.
