Of course they do. The end result is a dying country
They stole land from Indians and cleared the land of trees. Something needed much less today, and likely not considered socially acceptable.
Or could it be that people in the first world are smart enough to know not to breed like rats when they can’t afford it?
Qatar seems to be doing well with 90 percent of the country being foreign born. That’s how silly your UAE example is
My point is that the countries with the strictest immigration laws don’t seem to be starving from lack of diversity.
I don’t know when your ancestors came here but I can tell you the only government help was allowing open migration for a period of time. Those like my grandfather who came through Ellis Island had to prove they had the means to start their new lives or had a job waiting and the means to get to that job and they had to pass physical exam and if they had an illness they were put in isolation. My father and paternal grandmother were sponsored by their American cousins.
My grandfather paid his own way to get from NYC to Pittsburg California by train where a job was waiting for him. Legal immigrants who come to this country do not get $$$ thrown at them like illegals today. It’s an absolute insult to compare the illegal immigrants to the legal immigrants who actually, “made this country”.
Japan’s population was 111 million 50 years ago. And they did fine. Now it’s now 124 million. I think this population pyramid scheme that we’re in is a dangerous game. We need to find a better way.
I think Denmark has it right. Use that model.
No evidence. I’m not trying to convince you. That would be a waste of time. You were happy with caravans full of thousands of people flooding in. I’m trying to convince the U.S. to adopt a similar policy. Denmark is happy. Their immigration levels are super low. That’s enough for me. Nothing is enough for you.
50 years growth of 13m people. Thanks for confirming my point
Right so they go back and apply legally is a lie the right likes to dress up their actual desire to stop all immigration
I like Denmark’s method. It works well for them. Don’t over think it.
Can we have Denmark’s immigration system AND their healthcare system???
There is overthinking needed. Thank you for the honesty
That is a fallacious argument. As if the west and expensive countries to live in like Japan and South Korea cannot reproduce. So in order to meet the loss of population demand they must bring in foreigners who have little problem popping out five kids considering even if it’s the best they can do financially is to be dependent on government programs, it’s still a better life for them than where they left.
And then where does that cost go to? The taxpayers of course, who many under the age of 30 have little chance to ever own a home of their owns because housing after covid exploded in costs. Obviously people working trying to pay rent, move up the ladder with costs skyrocketed are not going to have as many children as people on the taxpayer dime.
They have asked western young couples many times in studies why they aren’t having kids and they always site the same thing “costs”. Plus your side is not taking in the impact automation and AI will have on western civilians. I am not convinced we need more and more people when tech companies are working everyday on more and more ways for businesses to not need employees.
Japan takes it to the next level. They have a very high standard for even merit based immigration
Nobody says that there are only two options - don’t let anybody in or let couples in who can pop out five kids.
There are dozens of options in the middle.
That’s not true at all but even if it was true so what? It may take several years to get back in the country, but they’ll be able to eventually. Currently it’s a way to get an illegal out of here peacefully and profitable for them as we pay their way home and we give them $$$, I think it’s about $1000. How far to do you think that would go in a 3rd world country?
Plus it’s hard to be an instagram “Girl Boss!!1!” If your having to do something as unimportant as raise the next generation.
It’s always nice to find points of agreement
I did.
