Maybe its better for future presidents to understand and know that they can’t just do anything they want without consequences.
Yeah… ALL the media is dishonest.
Trump never makes stuff up.
And if he isn’t convicted, which appears to be the likely outcome, won’t future Presidents get the opposite message? I warned Democrats when they sanctioned the Obama administrations criminal investigation of their oppositions candidate it would be the new normal going forward and they wouldn’t like it and here we are.
The actions of the Pelosi led proceedings are suspicious and circumspect at best.
The media is giddy with dysfunction and attention.
Our politic has become a circus and all because Trump wants to follow the rules.

IMO the conviction isn’t necessarily the most important piece. The exposure of the actions to the electorate matter. The investigations matter.
Some of those Senators could have been primaried, but Democratic voters wouldn’t have voted Republican out of spite.
Trump’s cult, on the other hand, might never forgive the Republican party.
How anyone can feel proud of this self absorbed man child, I will never understand.
Ex-Pat:They survived the impeachment of Clinton, and would have bounced back had he been convicted. Had Obama committed impeachable offenses, Democrats would have accepted it and looked to rebound. Of course, Obama wouldn’t have acted like such a fool.
Please, he committed perjury and they refused to convict, precisely because of the damage it would have done to their party because their voters did not feel that crime warranted removal from office. The same way most republican voters don’t feel Trump investigating possible crimes committed by the opposition candidate does not warrant removal because the same thing was done to their candidate the last time around.
You don’t think what Trump has done warrants removing him from office?

Of course they will still vote for the GOP, who else would they vote for?
Oh let’s say, the murder of a US citizen without due process.
Sounds serious. I wonder why the GOP didn’t impeach him.
This isn’t 1972. There is no tight monopoly on news by progressives as there was then today. No politician could stand against the big three back then, if you lost them, you were out.
Lol.
You think the GOP turned against Nixon because of network news?

So you are arguing that by not impeaching Trump the GOP will suffer the same fate as the D’s.

Do you really think most GOPers equate lying about oral sex to enlisting the aid of a foreign power to win an election?

For like the 1,000th time…the FBI wasn’t investigating trump. They were investigating Russian infilitarion of his campaign.
Would you have preferred we ignored that altogether?
Can’t we all just hug the flag and get along?
Fixed
Whoever Trump tells them to vote for.
That’s me in the corner
That’s me in the spotlight
Losing my religion
Trying to keep up with you
And I don’t know if I can do it
zantax:Idiotic tweets. However, did anyone think he would go quietly if he were to be impeached and convicted? Seems obvious to me that he would attempt to burn the country down around our ears on his way out. A sane person might wonder, if that is worth potentially removing him from office a few months early. And more importantly, Republican Senators should be aware that if they do take that step, Trump will be sure to do everything in his power to destroy their party and would likely succeed. This isn’t 1972, you don’t have a small and tight monopoly on the tv any more. Like him or not, you should probably keep in mind the man does have millions of devoted followers who aren’t going to bow to your assessment that he needs to be removed and have their votes negated.
So you are suggesting we ignore a POTUS breaking the law because he’s really vindictive and black hearted and you’d rather not have your party disrupted?
What a brave and principled post.
Exactly what I was thinking
How anyone can feel proud of this self absorbed man child, I will never understand.
Maybe you’ll come around.

That’s alright.
Just hold on tight.

It’ll be be a long night.
