He was soliciting bribes to NOT investigate them.

Paul Sperry is operating under the false notion that Shokin was investigating Burisma.

Everything that flows after that is nonsense.

Like the the phrase “ along with other evidence”…… what evidence?

The whole thing is a funhouse mirror version of what happened.

Of of the things that stuck out to me in that article was the testimony by Joseph Zeigler who stated that the understood reason for firing Shokin was to stop an investigation.

He is in the IRS… how would he know that?

Anyway… thought that that was a weird bit that was in there.

But once again… this entire theory is predicated on the idea that there was an active investigation on Burisma when there wasn’t.

The investigation that was on pause was for activity that took place before Hunter Biden got a job there and it was being stonewalled by Shokin at the time.

We know this because Shokin’s deputy prosecutor resigned less than a month before Shokin was removed in March 2016 and then in May 2016 provided the documents that showed that Shokin was not investigating Burisma.

Any story that leaves out that key part isn’t telling you the whole story.

Has Shokin been convicted of corruption? Are you personally aware of anything he did? I ask these questions because it seems all you have is taking the word of people who may have some circumstantial evidence and that is enough for you to take their word and support their assumption.

Shokin’s former Deputy Vitaly Kasko presented the documents that showed that Shokin did not have an open investigation.

Kasko is currently one of the leading the anti corruption efforts in Ukraine.

Burisma was corrupt which is why the US and allies wanted Shokin gone. Hunter should not have been on the board there, but he is a grown man and if someone is willing to pay him for his name… then so be it. Hunter held no political office before or after his time there.

BTW Removing Shokin also made it far more likely that Hunter would be in trouble.

Nah. The state department didn’t recommend getting rid of Shokin, Biden came up with that on his own. As to Europe:

“In fact, the Dec. 18, 2015, progress report, obtained by the New York Post, says that the European Union was satisfied that Ukraine had achieved “noteworthy” progress, including in “preventing and fighting corruption,” and thus was eligible for visa-free travel in Europe.“

As to Hunter Biden’s job, Burisma started paying Hunter in 2014. Joe got rid of Shokin in 2015. Payoffs continued to Hunter into 2019. Apparently Burisma wasn’t too upset.
