The Trump tax cuts were temporary for the middle class anyway. Repealing them is necessary for a functioning government.

Incorrectomundo. Spending is what needs to be “repealed”. Why punish what’s generating the revenue…especially during this virus? Spending is out of control and what needs to be addressed more than ANY other factor in our government.

Democrats are not the party of “fiscal conservatism”. They don’t make that a focal point. And certainly don’t yell at the moon when they aren’t in power that “debt will crush our kids and grandkids”.

Biden already stated he’s not repealing Trump’s tax cuts, he’s gonna modify it so taxes will go up on those making more than $400K a year.

It has become quite apparent that reducing spending is never going to happen in DC until the dollar loses its world reserve status, so to somewhat control the debt level we must look at raising taxes to fund the spending.

That party also controlled part of the Congress from 2010 - 2016, all of Congress from 2014 - 2016 and all of government 2017 - 2018, and could have raised taxes to deal with the deficit, but instead complained about spending for six years and then reduced taxes in 2017 without cutting spending and made the deficit worse.

Now they’re back to complaining about spending.

Yeah, this is the first election where I’ve voted straight Democrat.
Every other election (even off, off year elections), I’ve always voted for one Republican that had ideas I agreed with. I will admit that these Republicans are on the local level, but still.

There has already been debates (so many debates) on this. One side has said the tax cuts have increased revenue and the other has stated that the increase would have happened regardless of the tax cuts and therefore the tax cuts did not cause the increase and in fact decreased the increase. This has been stated with studies cited to no avail. There is no more debate from one side because there is no discussion. It is just repeating of talking points from the 80s.

I guess if you repeat it long enough, it becomes true because there is no critical thinking here on the subject of tax cuts and economic growth.
