Not just no but hell no

They always went out of their way to present both sides of the argument - it is law school, after all - but you could easily tell which side they supported by the people they invited.

In favor of expanding qualified immuntiy, a sitting federal judge. Against, some rando civil rights lawyer trying to get their name in the paper.

I’m just one of those lonely saddos who likes to read books about the Supreme Court throughout the years.

Or the guy was just getting his ID.

Is that only specific to you or do you give the same to trained law enforcement officers?

Robert Bork’s Slouching Towards Gomorrah occupies a place of honor on my bookshelves because he was the first and the last of those dudes to nationally come out and be like here’s exactly what we want with no obfuscating language.

Okay.

Sure. After being tazed and them following him with guns drawn.

Common’ Man!!!

You do know there is a video out there where the cop asked this Black guy for his ID, and when he turned and reached into his vehicle to grab his wallet he was shot in the back.

This was at gas station…some here might remember that.

You ever had a cop pointing his weapon at you while you have to get your ID?

It’s one ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  scary moment.

Without seeing a firearm the law of the old west still holds for me.

Back shooters are not just.

We had one in Pittsburgh not so long ago. The entire episode stank from every angle.

Interesting.

My school - while not the most pretegeous law school - was more than decent, and had the built-in geographic advantage of being in Foggy Bottom, half a mile from the White House.

Thomas taught a seminar every other semester. My 1L Contracts professor had to resign his endowed chair because he was appointed by Trump to sit on CAAF. My school was somehow both surprisingly conservative, and unsurprisingly liberal.

It was a fascinating experience.

They always did have the best food, though.

As opposed to whom?

That’s a Hollywood myth.

In a gunfight there is one rule.

It will be interesting to find out what the Department’s story is.

The Governor jumped out early:

Really, Conan?

As though white people haven’t lost their lives to cops for erroneous reasons?

I wonder, probably unknowable, if recent events caused or contributed to them not going hands on before he got to the car.

Most events just ordered Dominos.

That was always the easiest option - the school had a deal with the local Dominos, and all a club had to do was fill out a form.

But the more prestigious organizations would put the effort in to independently purchase their own (better) food, and deal with all the reimbursement paperwork afterwards.

Point is…unless you actually have a cop pointing his weapon at you while asking for ID then you don’t know how you’re going to act.

I’m white with tad of something else and it has happen to me.
