I can follow it just fine. That’s why I found it odd that you were telling me things that I already knew and hadn’t said anything counter to.

Because morals are relative to the person/people who holds them. Whether or not its a right protected by the constitutional or some sort of humanist or supernatural law does not mean everyone considers it moral. You could claim its a human right to hunt, kill, and eat animals but there are plenty of Americans who think thats immoral despite it being moral to you.

These signs are now popping up at “protests” around the country and elected “leaders” including at least one sitting congresscritter are endorsing it.

Yes, I see that, Rose. Concerning.

However the whole issue of police use of force is enormously complex. They are one of the few agencies of the US Gov’t. with the authority to detain our bodies, confiscate our possessions and, if necessary, take out lives. So the performance bar must be extraordinarily high. And, generally, I would say they do an excellent job at this most difficult task (I’m not an expert–and have limited knowledge).

However, as the power is so absolute and the responsibility so high, that if the net result of all this turmoil is yet one more effort at better pay (much), better recruitment, better training…then some good may come of it.

It’s early in the morning, so my optimism hasn’t waned yet.

All police that works for Minneapolis should return home immediately and prepare to find other employment starting right now.

I’m big on police reform, and I’ve posted what I believe needs reforming on other threads over the years, but this… this is absolute insanity.

You reform your departments, not destroy it. You increase training for police officers, not fire them. You fix the issues, not throw them into the river.

Have they lost their ■■■■■■■ minds??! Do they have any idea what this ultimately means long term?

Someone will have to take over the services the police currently provide. So are we going for a Paris Commune styled National Guard force?

If the central issue is that too many cops are brutal human beings without proper training, why the hell would you replace them with ill educated revolutionaries who have even less training??

I think what libs want is federal goverment interventionism So by disbanding local police…which they’re pushing by defunding them then state has to step in. And if state can’t then federal goverment has to step in.

And that would be Trump downfall.
