It’s delving into their lives no more…and no less…than the checks that are currently being cut. I’m suggesting changing some of the rules in how it’s paid.

What do you with kids, who try, but can only muster up a C average.
and have other kids, who smoke pot, and screw around, but still able to maintain a B+ average?

Do the parents of the pot smoking kid, get more cash then the other?

Also, I am more for free programs for those w/out the means, that would help families.
Things like:
Quality pre-k.
Quality daycare
Free healthcare, especially preventative, and counseling
Free BC for parents and teenage kids.
After school programs that keep kids from getting into trouble.

Many kids in small towns, with very little resources, get into drugs as they are bored, with nothing to do. These programs would not be just for cities, but small towns as well.

Thoughts?

One of the things I learned along the way was, the human mind is almost always capable of getting an A. It comes easier to some than to others but…it’s with very little question…capable. The difference is in the personal sacrifice required to earn it. That discipline, elevating the importance of the education, above anything that would distract from earning that A, is where the parenting comes in.

I don’t know why you asked the absurd question about the pot smoking kid but what you’re suggesting is…government parenting because the biological parents are failing? I have no problem with any of that, as long as, there are measurements of success along the way and some well thought out penal actions that are agreed to up front, if there aren’t?

 A C average in a public high school? Trying?

Why you lower the racist standard of course.

I have no idea what you are trying to say.

The reason I brought up the pot smoking kid, is that is fairly common. The parents and school do not know the kid is getting high…

Also, it seems the parents who have kids who can get good grades, will get more cash, than those that do not, when the parents role is not always the main factor.

And how much guilt would a kid deal with, who tries and tries, and cannot get an A…

I understand what you are trying to do…but I think it would backfire.

I don’t write rules for the needle but for the haystack.

The teachers play a big role regarding this atmosphere…whether it’s positive or negative but it’s the comparing yourself to others that is part of the motivation. Call it cruel but it’s how the world turns. It’s about maturing and preparing for adulthood.

You just suggested a rule, would be parents who’s kids get better grades, can earn cash assistance, a reward, for doing well. did you not?

I agree about the teachers, and they should be compensated much better, and the education system itself, needs to be adequately funded.

Too many times, the funding goes to the administrators, vs the people doing the hands on work.

Yes. Now…are you ready…you asked for proof about your desire for equal outcomes. This is your proof. I want everyone to have an equal opportunity…knowing…the outcomes will not be.

Again, I have never expected equal outcomes. Way too many variables.

Do you not see cash rewards for parents, dependent on the kid’s grades, being a problem?

@WuWei you’re following this conversation…do you think that is a good idea?

I certainly don’t. They need to be taught why it’s in their best interest and their parents need to make sure they are doing it. Nobody should have to be paid to be a decent human.

I agree but now…this is the hand “we” are dealt and I believe it is in the country’s best interest in the long run, to provide this pathway to educational success in the short run.

The crimes you dont go to jail for are gangsta.
Going to jail means your sloppy ass got caught.

You both have a point. If neither of you are lying, his point is stronger.

Always glad to hear from the suburbs.

I’m a law breaker too, I got busted for peeing on a railroad track. Had to get that expunged when I became an adult. I grew up around criminals, never appealed to me though. I think it is because I spent a few days in juvenile detention for grand theft auto when I was 14, very boring experience. And no I wasn’t guilty on that.

Was his killer apprehended?

Is this killer going to face the maximum penalty for killing him?

If the answers to the two questions above are both yes, what are you outraged about?

In this case, everything worked the way it was supposed to. Justice is going to be served.

Lol, Floyd movement called and said what?

What was the Floyd movement angry about?

What’s the difference?

There’s a key difference there.

Apprehended? Going to be tried and likely convicted? What are they outraged bout?
