I dismissed Trump when he announced his candidacy by denigrating Mexicans. Turns out I misjudged my fellow citizens. A sizable portion are just like Trump. Cruel, ignorant, selfish, and dangerous to everything America is supposed to stand for.

Unfortunately, Trump has taken over the GOP. He is the GOP. That vileness is what the GOP has become.

Decide what? Which posters aren’t safe for the brand? Sure. It’s really quite outstanding to me that right now as an anonymous poster on this site that I feel more protective of the brand than actual employees of it seem to be. I’d also be happy to take us back to the days where posters who had nothing in their history but obvious trolling weren’t kept around forever.

There’s not much left to lose as far a regular poster count anyway, and maybe if actual discussion comes back into the mix we’ll attract more people who want to have actual discussions. Right now we’re operating in reverse… More and more insanity if flowing in, and more and more rational discussion is leaving to never come back.

He was 100% correct when he said he could shoot someone on 5th Avenue, and he wouldn’t lose support.
