The physiology of pregnancy is complex, and kids change minute to minute. For both groups, you can clear a treatment or vaccine but in most cases, perpetual tracking of these populations are usual for just these reasons. The only way to avoid this is to never treat either group, and that isn’t good medicine either. Better to approve something and keep an extra eye on the groups who have higher complexity.

mRNA technology is built on the very short life of the vaccine in comparison with adenovirus vaccines, lipid envelopes are the only things preventing the vaccine from being completely destroyed once it enters the body, and they only last a few days. Long term problems are not going to be as big a concern as a result, most of what we have seen are more immediate responses.

That being said, those populations have and will continue to be groups that face protracted observation solely due to their complex physiologies. That doesn’t mean the treatment (drug, vaccine, etc.) isn’t safe to use but that continued surveillance is always the right thing to do.

We have a year+ worth of data.

What is considered long term and why is whatever length you choose, better than what we have today?

We know the long term data on pregnant women who die of COVID, 100 percent of them stay dead. And pregnant women are twice as likely to die of COVID than a woman of the same age and risk profile who is not pregnant.

We also know the Mom’s antibodies are passed on via placenta and breast milk to the baby, so the kid is going to be immune at birth which will protect them until they can get vaccinated. Right now, the youngest is 5 years of age.

We also have long term data on mRNA tech, just not with the specific COVID application. It is just too soon to have that data but given it’s self limited time in the body it should prove safe.

And none of this matters to you, so why ask? You are positing that pregnant women may not be safe from getting vaccinated and the only way to prove it is safe is to wait years, at which time the woman will not be pregnant, pregnant with another child or possibly dead from COVID. Nothing I say is going to matter so why ask?

Not at all true. I am positing truth. The “experts” need to stop telling lies, painting pretty pictures, to get compliance. Just be honest and let people decide. Stop trying to convince.

I have no problem with the vaccine. I have no problem with experts not knowing. I have no problem with experimental, emergency use, “should be safe” or even the odds of dying (as long as they are good numbers.)

I have a big problem with “experts” presenting theory as fact to drive a behavior agenda.

And I have a problem with mandating woulda, shoulda, coulda.

The infallibility complex. The inability to be honest. The disappearing when the outcome is bad - or excusing it away. Problems.

I took the vaccine before it was my time, with much less “data” than there is now. Not because some “expert” said so.
