North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is preparing for his three-day trip to the South Korean capital later this month; making a historic visit to Seoul to discuss the complete denuclearization of the region.

“North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has cleared three days later this month to make a historic first visit to Seoul to discuss ridding the Korea peninsula of nuclear weapons,” reports the New York Post.

The trip -set to start on December 18th- comes after the two leaders held high-level talks in recent months to find a permanent end to the decades-long conflict between North and South Korea.

President Trump met with Kim Jong Un during the historic Singapore Summit last June; pressing the communist leader to officially and permanently abandon his nuclear and missile weapons programs.

“That’s why I think the president thinks that another summit is likely to be productive,” added President Trump’s National Security Advisor John Bolton.
