Paychecks bounce, leaving Kentucky coal miners at bankrupt Blackjewel in a bind

How do you know they don’t?

Maybe you can post example.

What kind of example would you like?

Oh, they do. Here’s a commercial that I think illustrates that very well. I love this ad.

This makes no sense.

Well, how the hell does that work? Like, unDirect Deposit?

this place had tons of upside down US flags as avatars.

Read it and weep.

That doesn’t count.

What are you weeping over?

Even under Obama republicans were more patriotic then libs.

Ok. That’s what I was wondering. What is it about America in this century that has Democrats so upset? But I don’t want this to be discussed in this thread. It will be too hard for me to discuss.

i know, right?

Life isnt black and white. Someday you’ll learn that

I remember a possibly former poster commenting on laid off workers taking advantage of state vocational rehabilitation programs. Rather than take advantage of something more in demand, like nursing, they selected (drumroll) coal mining, having faith it would be brought back.

As shown in the link, such training still exists. Sorry for the workers in the OP. Maybe they, too, can get some more updated job training & get out of this dying industry once and for all.

This is China’s past, not its future.

Half of all investment in the WORLD in renewable energy is from China.

China is committed to having a quarter of their internal energy use come from renewable sources by 2030.

China understands going back to the 1950s when it comes to energy use is neither desirable nor sustainable.

China doesnt even emulate China’s use of coal.

why is this in the coal thread? should be in the americas great thread.

There is no reason to equate dirty coal to pride in America.

Its a totally misplaced in this thread about bankrupt coal companies.

Slight diversion, but its no surprise to any fan of union music that the OP story is from Harlan county.
