Because some people in his congregation were hurt over it. Why, we don’t know.

Was God hurt?

Can we make a good, educated guess?

At least John Gotti, who some religious men praised, went to church and gave money to his community.

I watch Christians praise a man who has lived his entire life in a non Christian manner and it’s befuddling. It’s like constantly praising Dennis Rodman.

He gets away with the very things they’d love to get away with doing.

God is a tool, now. A means to an end. Not the object of one’s humility.

I imagine they are Christians who believe in kindness and tolerance for people who differ - like migrants and LGBTQ. Maybe they don’t like name-calling. Probably hate the way the T admin treats children at the border. Maybe they’re actual Christ-like people.

The church members didn’t want him there. They disagree with him on policy- think it’s not Christian.

Is not wanting someone in church Christian?

Religious Islamic men in the Middle East have learned how to use their religion to promote their politics. We should all keep that in mind when people here do the same.

See Jesus-money lenders / money changers. Jesus was justly angered that worldly commercial activities had corrupted the holiness of the temple.

Bit of a stretch there, don’t you think?

Without knowing anything about the pastor or the congregation I’d say you could make a guess, and it would be colored more by political leanings and feeling about President Trump than by being educated about the pastor or the congregation.

Fine. I understand that some felt that way. Not all. For those that did, perhaps let them turn the other cheek as it were.

It depends on the church. The church I attend has people that would feel the same as you mentioned, some that believe he was prophesied as a man of God for such a time as this and everything in between. The church has a long standing policy that no one running for political office of any kind get’s stage/pulpit time. They are welcome to come, they can just talk to anyone that wants to talk to them after the service is over. People at my church would be upset that the pastor didn’t enforce the policy was well as those that would be upset because President Trump is an ungodly man and it would be perceived by some as an endorsement of ungodly behavior.

Activities.
Jesus condemned the activities of the money changers in the House of the Lord.

I saw nothing in this that was an example of President Trump acting as a ‘money changer’ setting up in the Lord’s House?

He came to ask for a prayer for him.

I saw nothing in what he did or that the pastor did that was inappropriate, or some violation of church tax exemption law?

The gospel that Pastor David Platt chose for the prayer was spot on.

Is separating kids from parents Christian?

Is marginalising minorities Christians?

Is belittling people Christian?

Is Trump’s behaviour to John McCain Christian?

One could go on and on, but let me summarise. Is any of Trump’s behaviour Christian?

No. But that’s a feature of Trump for his Supporters. They love him, but just claim he’s just an imperfect man who loves god. All the while losing their mind over tan suits and mustard.

really? How is that happening?

Maybe we need a pastor that says “not God bless America, God damn america”. Know of any pastor like that?

Too many Americans have turned the other cheek when it comes to Trump. He is a bad person.
