California Governor Gavin Newsom issued a statewide ‘Stay at Home’ order Thursday evening; asking all residents to remain in their houses and apartments to slow the spread of the Coronavirus and “flatten the curve.”

“CA is issuing a statewide, mandatory STAY AT HOME order. Those that work in critical sectors should go to work. Grocery stores, pharmacies, banks and more will stay open. We need to meet this moment and flatten the curve together,” posted Newsom on social media.

This is a developing story. Check back for updates.

We must realize there is no way any stimulus legislation can fix a shut down economy and at some point very soon there needs to be guidelines for small businesses to reopen with health precautions. It is beginning to appear that congress is using this emergency to implement socialist policies to take over the economy and redistribute wealth while putting the country further in debt and assessing taxpayers. from a conservative perspective, any funds disbursed should be only to those that actually incurred lost wages but cannot benefit from unemployment payments, not everyone. Setting maximum income guidelines instead of actual incurred losses that are not helped by other programs feels more like the democrats income redistribution scheme None of this will help if we cannot figure out ways to keep the economy going where ever possible and as soon as possible with some common sense restrictions outside of the few specific areas that represent the majority of the virus cases. These whole state shutdowns can be overkill and hurt many who are not at a high risk of being affected by the virus.
Also the idea of the government taking equity positions in businesses feels a lot like socialism as they will then have a say because of the equity position. We all know the bailouts of the past for the most part did not work and created other problems. We need to figure out a way to help private industry heal itself without more government.

Curious as to what others thing of these topics from a conservative eye of less government.
