Yes. Just suck it up. I don’t care what you perceive Democrats as doing. And yes, I thought Wisconsin Democrats were chicken ■■■■ too for bailing when they did. But if you can’t get enough votes to vote down a bill then you just have to take your lumps. That’s the process. It ain’t running away like a 3-year-old and hiding.

Republicans complain they are being kept in the dark and Democratic leaders push for quick bill approval

I don’t recall you calling democrats chicken ■■■■■ Ever.

But if you say so… always easier to comment after.

Well, as you can see from the 2010 census redistricting maps and REDMAP program. This may have been the wise choice in that situation.

Ahh, so it’s wise when democrats walk out, but a travesty when republicans do it. Got it.

I fail to understand the point you are trying to make.

That the now governor sent police after republicans, while holding her own walk out previously?

Maybe she should have been escorted back at the end of a pistol.

Is this post in response to my post?

You want to call me a hypocrite, fine, but you’re reading into things. Redistricting is the most important thing the legislature does. Having lived in the gerrymandered state of Michigan, It’s far more important than a climate change bill, and if the Republicans walked out on the Democrats because they were getting screwed over if wouldn’t have an issue.

BTW, I’m still reading your article.

No, that was in response to highroller.

Thank you for the clarification.

The democrats pulled out of the quorum to stop gerrymandering by republicans to bypass the governor’s veto. The republicans pulled out to stop legislation they didn’t like.

This will become a new tactic in Oregon if nothing is done and bring the state capitol to a standstill point. Is the answer to bring them back with the state police? I don’t know, but we are in unknown territory now.

The democrats are just going to do whatever the hell they want from now on. They don’t need nor want any republican input. Just need them to be present.

Not everyone is going to like everything that is passed. A lot of people don’t like the way Republicans run Lansing, but no one shuts it down just because they lost the election.

LOL. Does that apply to motorists who are pulled over for driving while black?

So just accept what the majority wants? Ok.

If they do it through legal means? Yes. That’s the cornerstone of democracy. A lot of legislation passed in Michigan under our Republicans I didn’t like, but that’s democracy. (Although here Republicans consistently get less than 50% of the vote)

Is this situation in Oregon legal? Can they be brought back ? I don’t know.

Yeah, the democrats haven’t made any concessions nor are they interested in working with the republicans. I hope this goes on for a long time.

It’s true that Democrats have strong-armed the bill through committees and its approval on the House floor. And they’ve ignored Republican amendments that they felt would fundamentally undermine the policy’s effectiveness.

You think this is good?

Really? Threats of violence, and frankly terrorism, if someone is forced to legally do their job?

No, I don’t think that part is good at all. I just want the republicans to not cave since they had absolutely zero input in the law.
