Do you mean the guys flying drones? Or the guys with range finder scopes sitting on the shoreline? Sure, why not target them?

If the geography and weather allow, then it sounds like one or two guys with a suitably large optical range finder could get the targeting information needed to hit a passing ship with a drone or missile.

No satellites or AWACS are required.

How does the US stop that?

Go to the source.

Do you mean with attacks or negotiations?

In 2002 and 2012, the US simulated a war between the US and Iran. Both cases ended badly for the US. Iran’s missile technology has greatly improved since then, and now it has close relationships with Russia and China as a new member of BRICS. The cost of a war with Iran is likely to be very high.

By targeting their location.

That assumes that the men and launchers are still at the launch location.

No it doesn’t. The forward observers can themselves be observed and/or traced through their communications with the launch site.

Please quote where I said we would use ground forces.
Thanks

You did not mention ground forces.

My point is that ground troops are not good option in Yemen. I assume you agree.

Nobody mentioned ground forces in Yemen except you.

Then why mention them at all in a reply to my post??
Of course putting in ground forces is not an option, but not for the reasons you suggest. The Navy and Air Force is more than capable of taking out command and control, launch, and storage sites using tomahawks and other guided munitions.

That said, if you think Yemeni forces would beat ours, well, I want whatever you are taking.

Seems to me I recall hearing the same over confidence in Vietnam and Afghanistan. Someone else … I think it was @WuWei … said earlier, killing lots of the enemy is not the same thing as winning.

To me the winning is political, also in Vietnam and Afghanistan the wars were ran out of DC, so the military was somewhat handcuffed on what they were allowed to do. In both wars battlefront commanders had to run actions “up the chain” and that chain often went past force commanders to higher levels to get approval.

And the White House. They admitted that US troops have been in Yemen for many years back in June.

Arabian Peninsula Region. A small number of United States military personnel are deployed to Yemen to conduct operations against al-Qa’ida in the Arabian Peninsula and ISIS. The United States military continues to work closely with the Republic of Yemen government and regional partner forces to degrade the terrorist threat posed by those groups.

United States Armed Forces, in a non-combat role, continue to provide military advice and limited information to the Saudi-led Coalition for defensive and training purposes only as they relate to territorial defense. Such support does not involve United States Armed Forces in hostilities with the Houthis for the purposes of the War Powers Resolution.
Letter to the Speaker of the House and President pro tempore of the Senate on War Powers Report | The White House

One major difference with the Houthis, unlike the Taliban they could not just go next door and get refuge, next door will kill them. And, killing a bunch of Iranian proxy Houthi’s would be a good thing anyway.

Saudi Arabia and Iran have made peace, and both formally joined BRICS today.

The US has run out of proxies in its war against the Houthis.

Bill you change subjects faster than i have never know any other poster. Are you a group writer?

I would first go to the source of the launch sites with overwhelming force.

That is unless the rebels are using achools, mosques and hospitals.

The One Horse Dog Face Pony Soldier removed the rebels from the terrorist list.

As for Iran, let us reimpose sanctions. We need to free the people.

The launch sites may be nothing more than an empty field or hillside, since the men and any minor equipment required for launch can be immediately evacuated.

Don’t waste your time. He spouts foolishness, the type inspired by a complete lack of knowledge of how a tactical kill chain is created. He also can’t stay on topic.

Hate to say it. you know nothing Bro.

Just an internet commando recycling doom.and gloom talking points.

I have agreed with you in the past about the proxy war in Ukraine and that country being corrupt. But I saw some flaws in your talking points. I am rather skeptical of the talking points you copy from the internet.
