I understand the concerns expressed in that article, but it was 32 years removed from the long march, the defeat of the Chinese warlords, Japanese and Kuomintang, and 16 years before the total capture of the Chinese mainland until the Cultural revolution was launched by an all powerful communist party.

Tactically, there is definite similarity. Also, I think the important point here is that the demise of the Soviet Union followed the loss of trust and faith into the founding myth following the “opening”, when everyone realized they had been lied to. “Everyone knew that Stalin was horrible, but Lenin?” - quote from a professor that was from the USSR that I knew in my undergrad days.

The resentment and hate has been bubbling under the surface of flag waving and false mythology of America. When these kids finally open a book and read about the atrocities and the deliberate immiseration, they become more susceptible to radical ideas. Couple that with the knowledge that their peers in other countries have healthcare, union representation and a far stronger welfare state, and we have the current state of affairs.

All of this George Soros-ing and other conspiracy memes being trotted out to explain everything being seen in the streets are severely missing the mark. I believe concessions to democratic socialists will temper this current reaction. Also, I’m far more concerned about the Q people due to their growing power.

Antifa by its very nature is made up of lots of different people with lots of different beliefs. A socialist is going to be anti-capitalist. An anarchist is going to be anti-law enforcement. I’d be very surprised if any of them are anti-white… they are anti-white supremacist… but I’m sure you can agree that’s not the same thing. They only seem anti Republican because many of those who they consider fascists tend to vote Republican. My point in all this being that Antifa is not all those things you listed because thats not the what Antifa is fighting.

Yeah, they needed to hold their grips a little tighter, keep both hands on their weapons, keep their trigger finger straight till ready to fire, not take their eyes off any possible targets, stand back to back, & keep a sideways posture. They did keep their heads on a swivel & kept a calm yet commanding tone though.
