If you also notice, the article is pointing out failed border crossings resulting in apprehensions. In other words, they’re up from the prior year because we’re actually enforcing immigration laws now so more people are being apprehended when attempting to cross the border illegally instead of merely turned around at the border like the previous administration was doing to make their numbers look good. It also shows that attempts to cross the border illegally are up from a year ago, not down. Another lie from the liberals trying to do away with enforcement of immigration laws.

You seem confused. The “past enforcement” was lacking. The law is actually being enforced now. Hence the huge difference in the number of apprehensions on the border this year vs. last year as illustrated in the article that was just posted.

What specifically do you think that Trump’s team is doing differently than Obama’s. I know they started this zero tolerance program but that practice of separating families has been widely shunned. What else is Trump doing to enforce the laws differently.

Trump was President LAST year too. Obama, the year before that.

Can you provide how laws are being enforced differently than they were during Obama’s term?

I want to stay on my point here Which is that the Dems are backing an open borders bill. According to @DougBH statement. You state that the laws we have a fine and now being enforced appropriately. What do you see is being done differently.

The article you cited compares one month (march 2018 to march 2017). Both of which are under Trump. Try looking at the annual data.

According to your definition, we have had open border laws for decades. Which means there would be no need for an “open borders” bill.

There isn’t a policy listed in your article that addresses apprehensions at the border. The only policy affecting apprehensions at the border, that I am aware of, is the one that separates families. This was supposed to be a deterrent to reduce illegal immigration, but it doesn’t seem to have had an impact.
