Pretty much, if you don’t do something to assure they show up. Interior enforcement is meager, so if you make it past the border you can just disappear. California will at that point consider you a valued member of the community and help you avoid law enforcement.

Does not enforcing our immigration laws equate to “open borders”? Absolutely. If you don’t enforce your laws then you might as well do away with immigration laws…i.e. open borders.

If you also notice, the article is pointing out failed border crossings resulting in apprehensions. In other words, they’re up from the prior year because we’re actually enforcing immigration laws now so more people are being apprehended when attempting to cross the border illegally instead of merely turned around at the border like the previous administration was doing to make their numbers look good. It also shows that attempts to cross the border illegally are up from a year ago, not down. Another lie from the liberals trying to do away with enforcement of immigration laws.

You seem confused. The “past enforcement” was lacking. The law is actually being enforced now. Hence the huge difference in the number of apprehensions on the border this year vs. last year as illustrated in the article that was just posted.

What specifically do you think that Trump’s team is doing differently than Obama’s. I know they started this zero tolerance program but that practice of separating families has been widely shunned. What else is Trump doing to enforce the laws differently.

Probably the result of turning around people at the border and calling that deportation to make the numbers look better, kind of like I just mentioned.

Trump was President LAST year too. Obama, the year before that.

Can you provide how laws are being enforced differently than they were during Obama’s term?

I want to stay on my point here Which is that the Dems are backing an open borders bill. According to @DougBH statement. You state that the laws we have a fine and now being enforced appropriately. What do you see is being done differently.

How long did it take to enforce the zero tolerance policy of separating families?

Apprehensions at the border are down, year over year. I don’t see any policy change that has affected that. Do you?

Interior enforcement? What was the policy change? Stop targeting criminals and go after anyone?
