There was a time when liberals were warm fuzzy bleeding-hearts, but sadly that’s no longer the case
the flower children of the past have grown into intolerant leftist woke weeds with powerful positions in Government that negatively effect the country.

The signature legislation signed into law by Trump was a budget busting corporate tax and 1% giveaway, increasing the debt by as much as Obama in half the time
He ran the country like one of his playing at business attempts; straight into the ground.
It’s funny you can’t link to any actual policies but go around taking about “Trump policies”. His policy is whatever he try him the most laughs when held out trying out applause lines at his “rallies”.

To pay for all the pork and new entitlements that Libs keep creating to buy votes.

Woops! You misspelled corporate and 1% tax cuts and Trump new spending .
You guys continue the tax cuts for the rich mantra despite any evidence of its truthfulness. Under Trump, I had more take home pay. I could see and benefit from his “tax cuts for the rich” even though I am far from rich. By contrast, I can see the outright lie TJ told when he said his tax increases will not affect by one penny anyone who makes under 400 K. My take home pay is smaller AND we now are dealing with a 40 year high of inflation and record high gas prices. ALL OF THIS SINCE TJ ASSUMED POWER. Please tell me how much poverty has decreased, how much crime has decreased, how America is more secure, how much more respect we have on the world stage, how he has slowed the human and drug trafficking on our southern border, how he has hindered our enemies from aggression, how fewer people have died from Covid, how less divided we are, how we are better in ANY MEANINGFUL WAY under TJ Biden. WHAT HAS THE MAN DONE?? 50 years in DC… He chose his cabinet not by qualifications but by checking boxes on his diversity sheet. Everyone of them is an incompetent moron, and surely you can’t say anything positive about Kamala Harris can you?
SQUAT DIDDLY! So far, other than being openly supportive of the minuscule percentage of perverts, putting a radical left wing legislate from the bench minority female in the Supreme Court, he has done NOTHING beneficial to this country.
You want to point to his infrastructure bill?? Big deal, like every other bill passed, the vast majority will be used for pork and whatever is left that will actually go to infrastructure, I bet you can’t point to a single thing that will actually be accomplished that will benefit Americans.
Keep talking about policies and ignoring reality by all means…,
It’s “the people vs elites” charge that @FreeAndClear claims is the divisive weapon of populists on the right.
I tried to tell @FreeAndClear that maybe that was just projection but … well you know, over the years, even well meaning libs spilled so much prog soup on their clothes that they smell just like a prog.
It’s not a charge. It’s a definition. Populism is defined as people versus the elites. The fact that you are trying to massage it into something else doesn’t change the fact. And tax the rich is populism. Of course it is.
One of my favorite @WuWei quotes is that proletariat chose MAGA. I believe that’s 100 percent correct. And one of the reason that it did was populist platform.
That being said i will freely admit The left is very much into populism. Again the last time socialism took over a country it was because of populism.
One of the interesting things in your long post where you described your approach to populism said that you were ok with we the people being given the opportunity to become elites as long as it is not at the expense of other we the people. Which sounds offly like equity of outcomes.

No no no no no… ■■■■■■■■■
In the “equity” that is associated with your tribe, the government mandates it. I said nothing of the kind. People still must work to climb the ladder and the absence of equity is not viewed as a flaw. The opportunity is simply there… which blows your assertion that all populism is simply divisive rhetoric that pits the people against the elites. I can read definitions too and acknowledge that some forms of populism are like that but the form that many Americans identify with is not that kind.
It is common for parties and ideologies to have so many variations. Look at the spectrum of “anarchists”, ranging from idealistic peaceniks to rabid bomb throwers. Likewise … a spectrum of populists exists. You want to focus on the word as though there is one and only one kind.
Two James Distillery Detroit MI?
Might as well go back to beer. I usually bring a couple of bottles of crap iced tea with me to work. Last year they were 2 for 3.50, now they’re 2 for 4 bucks. Beer hasn’t gone up a single dime since last year. At least not the beer I drink. As far as I can tell, craft beers haven’t gone up either.
But my wife does tell me that the grocery bill is up about 50 bucks more than usual. Which for us is about 25% or more.

Equal opportunity is not the same as equal outcomes. The first requires preparation, dedication and lots of hard work that exceeds the efforts of those around to achieve your economic success, while the other only has to breathe. These two thoughts are on opposite ends of the reality spectrum.

No ■■■■ sherlock.
Equal opportunity does not exist in America. Never has.
When asked to be specific about what “Trump policies” you meant, yiuccio hint name any and linked to a 404 error and an OpEd that couldn’t name any either, just take credit for things that were happening before Trump became President.
We do know he failed spectacularly managing t he one crisis that wasn’t of his own doing.
You don’t like Trump for policies. Trump supporters stay loyal because he hates the same people they hate. That’s all it is.

So you’re you made enough money to have to end up paying the additional 0.9% Medicare tax?
I.e. $200-$250K? (I suppose it could be $125k if you are married filing separately for some reason).
Because that’s the only way your take-home pay would have gone down under Biden…literally the only change to the tax code that would impact anyone making under $523K per year.
Unless you’re going to claim your employer reduced your wages- during a labor shortage.
PS Wait a minute- I was wrong on that too- that tax has been assessed since 2013.
So in what way did your pay go down that’s attributable to Joe Biden?

Can you breathe…just the same as anyone else? Can you see and hear the same as anyone else? Does your body run on nutrients, the same as everyone else? All this is equal but where the true variance comes into play, is how large the boot is going up your butt when you decide not to do your school work. It isn’t the books, builidings, bricks, teachers, principals or superintendents…it’s the parents behind the student that make all the difference.

The real inflation rate is about twice what the federal numbers show, and for food and transportation are numbers more like 20 to 30%.

If so - and there may be some truth in that - the unequal opportunity is not systemically race based. It’s 2022… not the 1950s.
