They got what they asked for. Ask Booker.
This kid from Maine doesnt have his understanding of govt right. It is not up to the courts to give us clean air. It is a function of congress to make the law. They have not done so.
People should quit running to the courts with their grievances. The congress should make our laws. The courts punish those who do not obey them.
LOL. The dems are trotting out kids against.
The Republicans are rolling out Constitutional scholars for.
Emotion vs. Reality.
When did we stop really teaching government and civics in school?
Appeal to pity has become the basis for policy. Both tribes.
Well, there goes the race card.
The 60’s is my best estimation.
Nah… It is when they stopped airing Schoolhouse Rocks.

1996…you think?
Jezcoe:Nah… It is when they stopped airing Schoolhouse Rocks.

They aired those until 1996? Then Fox News goes on air in 1996!?
I think we are through the looking glass here people.

They did…and you are right.
NebraskaFootball: DougBH:You were iffy, but some guy that Kavanaugh has no idea who he was or where he came from blindsides him as part of an obvious set up and now you say ■■■■ this guy? Yeah. You were iffy.
He was a guest of Feinstein’s, and she introduced him to the hearing during her opening remarks. It is a little hard to believe Kavanaugh did not know who he is. Unless he was not paying attention, which seems unlikely.
I do agree it seemed like a set-up though. And I would be interested to know what the father said exactly, before Kavanaugh turned around. I cannot imagine someone like Kavanaugh just being a jerk to a grieving father for no good reason. I’d suspect the father, in his grief, said something tactless or even abhorrent to Kavanaugh. Saying he has blood on his hands, or something similar.
I cannot imagine that he did.
I believe you, but that doesn’t mean he didn’t.
DMK:I watched the video several times in slow motion. The expressions from Kavenaugh ranged from surprised (as he turned around) to processing what was said and then to annoyance. By all I have read and heard about Kavenaugh he seems to be very good man. I can only imagine what was said to him was inappropriate.
That is pretty much where I am here as well. Obviously knowing exactly what was said would make all of this easier to analyze. But like you mentioned, I have little reason to believe he is anything other than a proper gentleman. Regardless of what one may think of his political views or judicial beliefs.
It doesn’t matter a great deal what was said (we are all pretty certain it was not praise.) Anytime someone is ambushed in a crowd, particularly after being the object of so much hatred, they are most likely going to react with trepidation not cordiality.
Maybe it’s time.
Justices already have term limits … one.
You are overly kind. Sometimes I’m a jerk.
I prefer the word misguided.
You are in denial. You are no different than any other member of any tribe. Your link is pure unadulterated confirmation bias. There is none so blind…
You have a nice day.
My facts are facts, and include full context. You don’t have to like them for them to be the facts.
Fact is, there is no precedent to what McConnell did in 2016.
made up excuses to deviate from precedent does not change the context.
There is no precedent.
The context is your ever changing parameters do not establish a precedent.
psst… you seem to be ignoring it did not just happen in 1828
imagine that!
under the same circumstances, the same thing was done EVERY time with the exception of the elevation of a sitting justice to chief justice.
the spin your liberal masters want to put on it with their made up bs study is just spin.
Dantes has taken care of this one pretty nicely in the other thread:
What time did it happen after that?
So the precedent is now an associate justice seat that is vacated during the calendar year of a presidential election where the President and Senate are of different parties and the nomination occurs prior to the election.
It has happened exactly once.
(we are all pretty certain it was not praise
It is hilarious to watch you people make up stuff out of whole cloth. You don’t know what was said yet you’re certain about what was said.
