I don’t believe that anyone thinks that it could never happen. I’m a little confounded by people who refuse to believe that someone would lie about this type of thing when we’ve seen it done before.

Rather, what I think is that we’ve seen that people are aware of political games and the timing of this makes it clear that it’s politically motivated. I find that disgusting. They would not care a bit about her or help her if she were accusing some guy who grew up to be a plumber. She certainly wouldn’t have the twitter following if it was a regular joe.

That coupled with the scant details (not the sordid ones), no evidence, and the way it’s been handled - with her refusing to testify and her attorneys claiming that she’s being bullied by the committee… It makes it very difficult to find them to be above board.

Now we have Avenetti’s showmanship on top of it. How the hell do you demand someone answer against allegations that you won’t officially make. Screw him and his questions, make the charge if you have one.

I do feel sorry for the women who are being dragged into this and for Mr. Kavanaugh’s family. I’ll decide whether I’m sorry for him when we have more information.

I hope he simply states that given the latest accusations, he is pulling the nomination. He might say that Kavanaugh is a good man, but I hope he doesn’t attack the accusers.

Still, if I were Kavanaugh and did not do these things I would want an FBI investigation an this point. He needs an official report saying “there is no credible evidence”. At this point, I would want that more than I would want on the SC.

Hmmm- it’s september 24th. The election is November 6th. That’s about 6 weeks. I seriously doubt the could pull Kavenaugh and nominate someone else and get a vote on them before the election. If they do pull Kavenaugh the GOP better pray they don’t lose the Senate.
