A question that i didnt ask before is why is the gop’s response to a man grieving over the abuse that his family received in congress to put candace owens up to talk about hitler? Think about that for a second… Think about what that says to people who are actually suffering abuse because of where they came from? Would you pull this stunt if you were going through life having to worry constantly for the safety of your own children? Why is it the only response to a father that is trying to tell people that their child is suffering to “go back to where you came from?” Why Conan? One of the reasons why we will become a much more violent society is because instead of listening, we balk at the mere suggestion that things arent fine. We treat the victims of abuse as attackers and we lash out at them.

Why should minorities have to put up with racist abuse or go home? Is it cowardice about having to come to grips with the fact that everything is not fine and racism hasnt ended? Or has the virtue of selfishness mixed with jingoism taken over? Or is America really that evil a society? Can anyone answer this for me?

This is what a lot of people like me do that trumpists dont. When someone tells me their children are suffering and are being harassed on a constant basis. I listen. The GOP sends candace owens to tell them to shut up and then go on a completely irrelevant tangent then lie about hitler.

Just for fact Obama said manufacturing jobs are a thing of the past either makes them completely incompetent or the enemy of the people.
For the record, the Democratic party has not been controlled by the liberal/progressive faction since JFK.
Also, SCOTUS dealt a huge blow, when they ruled parts of the VRA were not needed any longer.
Lastly…400 years of oppression, Jim crow, 2nd class citizenship,etc… cannot be resolved in one generation. Especially, when one ideology fights nearly everything attempted to improve the situation.

I concur, the conservatives in the Democratic party, primarily in the south, were racists.
Til about 60 years ago or so.
Closing down polling locations mostly in minority districts, telling people to go home when they dare pipe up about the abuse they receive.
