A whole lot of overhead exists in the medical industry to prevent/avoid/mitigate/hide lawsuit material.
Government regulations add to that.

Are there any societies that has an effective affordable healthcare system where there is no, or very little government involvement?
Well, no person on the left in power supports “open borders”. If i am wrong, who are you referring to?
Where has this worked on the planet for healthcare?
Texas limited how much one could sue for…did not reduce costs.
This is exactly why I oppose a single payer system. Progressives don’t care about medical innovation or competency, because it’s “immoral” unless it’s free.
Please, we’re done with this line of gaslighting. Rubber-stamping anyone who shows up at any border for fake asylum claims and consistently voting against deporting even criminals is effectively open borders. Progressive language games no longer work.
Fine, then whom?

The right can bury its head in the sand all it wants to, it won’t change the need.
“Need” doesn’t make it a federal program issue.
Sure it does, when a law is passed.
It’s simply not the purview of the government.
It is if a law is passed, such as the ACA. How did social security happen?
Don’t know.
Head in the sand won’t fix the problem.

Norwegian style health care kick all the illegals out and set up a point based migration system that only allow taxpayers in to help fund it.
And pick up the bodies in the street?
No…,they will be home in their own, country. That’s what kicking out the illegals does.
You’re a dreamer.
there is no need for single payor health care. There is a need for the federal government to get out of it
The current healthcare system isn’t failing?
the right to move. seemed to be what you were harping on about.
“Harping”? I asked for a solution.
did I say any such thing?
WuWei:
Single Payer is “LEFTY! Eeeew no way!”
The current system of insurance tied to employment is a disaster. It’s crumbling.
What do you want (that’s feasible)?
Remember, the plan has to address the needs of most citizens.
You mean Obama didn’t fix it? And now you need ideas from Republicans?
No, obama didn’t fix it.
Yes.
no, you were harping on about people needing to look at their alternatives and trade offs when making a move.

There is no need for for profit healthcare.
That’s ridiculous. If there’s no profit, there’s no incentive.

I like the idea of paying for superior care. You can go to the free clinic, if you want. Leave me out of it.
And we should stop trying to force others into a system they don’t want to join. Free markets advance faster…
Who will pay for the clinic? Can you afford both?
Sounds like the education system.
That’s what Colombia has, by the way.
simple fact, like all other areas where the federal government has involved itself where it has no business, they have only succeeded in making the problem worse. We need to move away from federal government involvement in these areas that would be better left to the states. It won’t and can’t be done instantly. It must be planned, allocated for, and done in stages. We did not get here overnight, and we’re not going to get out of it overnight.
