There is just no doubt that the state of Minnesota was involved in funding and protecting their base. Whistle blowers were ignored or punished. Republicans no longer have the option of dragging out investigations for months or years. They need to hustle. Start charging people. And do it like yesterday.
That was a rhetorical question but my bad it should have been clearer.
Ok. That’s fair.
I’m guessing that they used evidence to come up with their findings. I don’t think they just made it up.
No worries brother.
I agree, fabricating evidence is very difficult to do and in a case like this under such scrutiny practically impossible.
My point was if there is evidence is it enough to get a conviction? I thought they were still investigating and gathering evidence.
My experience in these situations is that the federal government isnt really investigating for charges to be filed. No, the feds are always interested in recouping money with penalties and interest. They will let MN decide on the criminality of it all.
That remains to be seen. I would say that if you have a daycare center that received ten million dollars and has zero record of any kids, that’s rock solid evidence. The Learing Center closed up shop and fled after being exposed. That’s not what innocent people do. The feds have access to all records. Why do we need months or years to indict the Learing center?
Well maybe that needs to change. Put some teeth into enforcement and just maybe someone will think twice before concocting a scheme.
For me just the threat of prosecution and jail time was enough to ensure I did things by the book. What happened in MN occurs because people get away with it for a while with no over sight. I worked at my last job for 26 plus years, went through annual audits by our accountants, about every 3 to 5 years Medicaid would do an Audit as well. My first Audit took 2 years to resolve and I found out that most of our negative claims were the fault of poor processing by State Medicaid. I took 250 K in penalties down to 10 K. My boss took me to dinner…lol
In MN this definitely needs to change. It has to be part of corrective action. And Walz himself should probably resign after firing those in the oversight roles at the state level.
When it is found to be intentional, people need to see life thru a set of bars. That is the only way those that steal and commit fraud at this level will learn.
Knowing they will not be prosecuted and face jail time means the laws mean nothing.
Agreed, but I’m not sure about life. I think max penalty is 10 years and fines. But that was enough to keep me on the straight and narrow.
Oh I don’t think life is the appropriate sentence, unless they are repeat offenders. I think 10 years + fines is appropriate.
….agreed. It’s time for indictments and actual prosecutions for potential crimes committed.
….and there’s no way the politicians weren’t aware. When the truth is fully exposed, we’ll find they are also partial recipients.
That is enough money to buy every autistic person in MN a house and a 24/7 assistant.

You don’t prosecute potential crimes. Did you mean alleged
The 2024/25 Pennsylvania budget spends 354 million on autism
It was 26m in 2017
That also looks like fraud.
Thank you for being my temporary lawyer. ![]()
With as much material as they have to sift through it could easily take a year or two just doing evidence gathering
