Oil companies operating in the Alaskan arctic are literally feeling the heat from climate change. The increasingly inappropriately named permafrost is melting, placing at risk all sorts of oil related infrastructure upon which it is built atop. As winters shorten and temperatures continue to rise, oil companies are ironically contracting out in increasing numbers services to keep ground temps down.
