As an organization grows and evolves, it can take on new responsibilities and tasks.

BLM is certainly large enough to tackle wider issues than just police brutality and reformation of the justice system.

I’d argue it would help a lot with the image. Whether fairly judged or not, the George Floyd riots are burned into people’s collective memory. And BLM is heavily judged for the excesses that occurred.
