No intending to add another layer of complication, but I know half a dozen two-parent families who lovingly raised their kids. Good values. Self discipline. Personal responsibility. Hard work. Service. All that. And what happens? The kids become literally ravaged by anxiety and or depression, and self medicate. Some ended up homeless or in the courts. Some become violent. So there’s that too, whatever that is.

In general people who succumb to leftist propaganda are not multi-level thinkers. If you say fatherlessness is a contributing factor statistically, they think you are saying fatherlessness is determinative. No, that fatherlessness is contributive statistically, does not equate to claiming fatherlessness will determine criminality and violence in all cases. However, reducing the number of children separated from one or other natural parent will statistically help reduce the number of those likely to commit violent crimes. The statisics on gun numbers per person worldwide do not indicate that more guns contribute to violent crime numbers. The choice of weapon might be guns where guns are readily available, but the choice to commit a violent crime is not related to gun numbers.

There is no one solution. There is a multi-faceted improvement, part of which is to be honest with young people and tell them that there are lifestyle choices that statistically yield a financially, psychologically and emotionally healthier next generation. Not that these choices guarantee success, but they increase you chances of living s fulfilling life. Withholding these stats from kids because they imply other lifestyle choices are statistically inferior is a form of theft. It is stealing truth from others.
