I would say MAGA and the woke left are the most fear-based movements I’ve seen in my many decades. Everything, every idea and every person who espouses that idea is somehow a threat and needs to be doubted. I wrote a post a few months back quoting verbatim statistics unflattering to Trump’s policy on tariffs, and even cited personal anecdotes from people I know who confirm the statistics. Was immediately called a liar. Gotta be fear because nothing else explains the immediate rejection by smart people of any and everything that challenges them.
