Obama's Legacy - Emotional Damage!

It pays to be patient…

And I don’t think he had any truly deep, meaningful policy commitments other than the need to feel and to be perceived as victorious, as triumphant. I’ve sometimes said to people that I think Barack is actually just as insecure as Trump, but in ways that are not readily perceived by the vast majority of people. I think that’s probably my most basic takeaway," Garrow said.

Emphasis mine

Obama is the reason race relations are so bad today. Race relations is getting worse every day since. Every time a democrat yells RACIST! at inanimate objects or over something or someone that’s not.

Be interesting to see the critprog response.

He emboldened millions of racist libs to be more open about their anti-Caucasian views. :man_shrugging:

Barack Obama was just a rather unimpressive individual with no real standout accomplishments in life who was very good at reading a teleprompter. Nonetheless, simply because he was the first (1/2) black president was worshipped like a god.

Obama didn’t seem to have much interest in governing and simply saw the presidency as a means to build his brand and obtain massive wealth.

Here is the interview

It’s a great read

The interviewer does a decent job except in parts where he tries to push his views of Obama being the shadow master onto Garrow and other conspiracy theories of his.

Obama was a failed foreign policy president. However the criticism interestingly by both of them is that he didn’t do enough i to intervene on the world stage. Fascinating.

Otherwise great read and i may read the book now.

That second sentence is fascinating. I love when posters project. But i don’t want to get off track

That being said i beleieve Garrow that Obama is just as insecure as Trump

Sidenote time :upside_down_face:

That would mean interviewing … oh God, all his former clerks. Oh God. The first piece I wrote about Thomas was a Times Week in Review piece in the Summer of ‘95, after Missouri v. Jenkins came down, explaining that Clarence Thomas is a Black nationalist. And I managed to get that in The New York Times. But that was 1995. Wouldn’t happen now.

The white guilt aspect of his voters is interesting and i don’t thing wrong. The only thing is that it is intellectually lazy because it ignores the second term slam dunk win.

Illegal invaders were bussed to Martha’s Vineyard, photographed with “compassionate” locals, the National Guard was called and the illegals removed without a trace within 24 hours.
Wanna guess who called those shots?

It will be interesting to see how much of what was said in the interview will just feed the unadulterated hatred there is for Obama instead of analyzing what was said.

Isn’t that the important part of the statement? I have no doubt Obama is insecure… I bet most Presidents are. But most presidents also have the maturity to control their urges to act on insecurities publicly or in situations that don’t need it.

This is a non-story but like @FreeAndClear says, interesting read.

Failed domestic policy also.

Except for all the jobs the growing stock market and the stable economy. Those things that are good but only when a Republican is president. Otherwise total failure……

You have to remember that during Obama’s time, Trump was not in the picture

Why does the 2nd term change white guilt?

Because at that point it was beyond that. The country was stabilized after 2008 collapse. People were happy to vote for him. It ignores the success of obamas first time to stabilize the country after a near total financial collapse

And of course the interviewer and Garrow view the first term as total failure without stating why. Because it’s easier.

No. You missed his point.
