Former President Barack Obama officially entered the 2018 midterm elections Friday; telling students in Illinois the Republican Party is “capitalizing on resentment” to retain control of Congress this fall.

Obama was speaking at the University of Illinois when he slammed President Trump and the GOP for using a “playbook as old as time” and urged young Americans to get out and vote “because our democracy depends on it.”

“You need to vote because our democracy depends on it. … Just a glance at recent headlines should tell you this moment really is different," he said.

"You happen to be coming of age during one of those moments. It did not start with Donald Trump. He is a symptom, not the cause. He’s just capitalizing on resentments that politicians have been fanning for years,” added Obama.

All the while preached divisional politics while accusing Trump of doing what he just did.

"Sometimes the backlash comes from people who are genuinely, if wrongly, fearful of change. More often it’s manufacturing by the powerful and the privileged, who want to keep us divided and keep us angry and keep us cynical because that helps them maintain the status quo and keep their power and keep their privilege.

My bet libs won’t see the irony of it.

You’re spot on. They won’t.

Oh and Obama was bitching about Trump taking the credit for the economy.

When Obama left the economy was limping alone with only 1.6 percent growth.

Nah. He’s just pointing out how you’ve been suckered by the wealthy and powerful to serve their purposes.

He’s just trying to set you free.
