As long as they publicly touted the party line, it didn’t matter what they did in their private lives.

So Obama is just like them. More leftists will pine for him now…yearn for his return to make even more money, but say the right things…

Nope. Neither is “helping” the less fortunate without encouraging them to search for jobs, or look into any voc rehab offered in their states to acquire some marketable skills, if that’s an issue.

People like Obama seek to build up the rhetoric until wealth is forcefully confiscated & redistributed to people who don’t know what to do with it.

Look at Zimbabwe, where the population starved as farms owned by white families for generations were forcefully seized & redistributed to black families who knew nothing about farming.

I don’t know about where you live, but where I live, those who really hate the wealthy, from young college students to elderly, aren’t bery diverse, either.

They’re a pretty homogeneous group, really. The vast majority are white.

And, with even Obama’s senior advisor, Valerie Jarrett, acknowledging the number of jobs that were lost under her former boss, that coffee shop would probably go out of business pretty quickly.

Your statement about fossils had nothing to do with the post you addressed. It has nothing to do with this thread.

It was a deflection. (It also demonstrated your ignorance of scripture.)

You could have said, “Oh. I never knew the full statement from Jesus included that extra part.” You could have welcomed the correction so that you wouldn’t misuse that piece of scripture in the future. But instead you deflected the correction to fossils.

As I have already explained, I never deflect.

People “deflect” when they don’t want to answer a question that hits at the heart of what they’re talking against. In this case there was no need to deflect anything about what Obama said!

No, it was not a deflection, because I have no need to deflect anything. Let me repeat: this thread discusses Obama talking about taxes and him saying that he’d be willing to pay more in taxes.

If someone had provided a link that proved that in the past Obama had whined about having to pay more in taxes, then the necessity to deflect and ignore that inconvenient fact would be seized upon by people who do deflect, rather than those who face facts - even inconvenient ones, head on.

I was giving an example of what is and is not deflection.

Are we talking about the eye of the needle here??? (That’s a rhetorical question - don’t answer it!)

Anything I said was an example of what is and what is not deflection. For an in-depth discussion of religion, yeah, that should be in the religion folder.

Everyone should, IMO, have some dog in the show, pay some small percentage of their income, say 2 or 3 percentage of one year’s income, in taxes for services available to all.

And I reiterate: It is none of anyone’s business if or how the wealthy—Obama included among them—spend their money. If they want to end hunger with it, or save an animal, or bail little Johnny Rotten out of jail, it really is their business.

Its called voluntary kindness and its been going on since the beginning of the country and its more effective because it actually “helps” people to improve their lot to make it on their own whereas Obama’s “more taxes” plan puts a vice grip on enterprise and less money to “help out” others and results in poverty for all to the point no one can afford to “help out” others.

Once again liberals, especially the rich and famous liberals, accuse others of what they do themselves. Obama and other rich liberals like himself only give to charity for tax purposes so while they are slapping more taxes on the middle class they hire tax attorneys to shelter their wealth.
