No he attacked people who just want more for themselves and don’t want to help out those less fortunate. For some reason they left off what he said immediately after that, where he addresses that -
"You don’t have to take a vow of poverty just to say, “Well, let me help out and let a few of the other folks – let me look at that child out there who doesn’t have enough to eat or needs some school fees, let me help him out. I’ll pay a little more in taxes. It’s okay. I can afford it”
From the linked article: ’ Obama then chided wealthy individuals for excess, saying, “There’s only so much you can eat. There’s only so big a house you can have. There’s only so many nice trips you can take. I mean, it’s enough.” ’
I guess he gets to set himself up as the arbiter of what “so much” and “so big” should mean.
I guess it’s somewhere bigger than an $8.1 million house. The line probably stops at 8.2 million.
As long as you “help out a few of the other folks”, and stay under 8.2 million for your second home … then all is well for someone fomenting class warfare.
I also notice that for Obama, the way to “help out a few of the other folks” is to funnel it through the control of the government via added taxation.
I’m missing the hypocrisy. He’s chiding those who don’t want to pay taxes simply so they can have an extravagant lifestyle. If he can afford to pay high taxes and still have an extravagant lifestyle there’s no hypocrisy.
Really? What has Obama done for the poor other than pay his taxes?
And anyway … what evidence does he have to support the contention that these people are living a wealthy life style because they are not paying their taxes?
Lol. You asked how he gave other than taxes. I gave examples. Now those aren’t good enough. You’ll find a way to move the goalposts no matter what.
