LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman found himself in hot water Sunday following the assassination attempt on Donald Trump over prior comments he made wishing that the former president was an “actual martyr.”
The Democratic super-donor, in a post on X, tried to clean up the inflammatory remarks he made last week while telling the audience at the Allen & Company Sun Valley Conference that he and fellow tech entrepreneur Peter Thiel had a falling out due to a “moral issue” — Thiel’s backing of Trump, according to a Friday report in Puck News.
Thiel, who was in the audience at the panel, spoke up and sarcastically thanked thanked Hoffman for putting money behind lawsuits against Trump, saying that the legal action had turned the 45th president into a “martyr.”
“Yeah, I wish I had made him an actual martyr,” Hoffman reportedly replied.
Both FOXBusiness and Reuters are reporting that
a guy named Dmitri Mehlhorn, is a “top political adviser” to LinkedIN’s Reid Hoffman, and that Melhorn sent an email to journalists Saturday night suggesting
“that this ‘shooting’ was encouraged and maybe even staged so Trump could get the photos and benefit from the backlash.”
.
.
. . . Mehlhorn wrote that false flag attacks were “a classic Russian tactic” used by Vladimir Putin to win power in 1999 and that other examples of the “tactic of committing raw evil and then benefiting from the backlash include Hamas on October 7.”
He went on to say that another possibility “is that some crazy anti-Trumper in this chaotic moment decided to assassinate the former President.” Law enforcement authorities identified the shooter as Thomas Matthew Crooks, 20, who was killed after firing shots that grazed Trump’s right ear and killed one rallygoer while wounding two others. Authorities have not revealed his motive and the investigation into the assassination attempt is ongoing. . . .
WASHINGTON, July 14 (Reuters) - An adviser to a Democratic mega-donor apologized on Sunday for suggesting the possibility of Republican former President Donald Trump’s shooting being staged.
Democratic strategist Dmitri Mehlhorn is an adviser to billionaire Reid Hoffman who is a co-founder of social media platform LinkedIn and a major donor to mostly Democratic candidates. . . .
The shooting led to a wave of baseless conspiracy theories online with some suggesting it was carried out by a shadowy “deep state” against Trump while others suggesting it could have been staged for sympathy.
News website Semafor reported that Mehlhorn, in an email to some sympathetic journalists and supporters, said there was a possibility “that this ‘shooting’ was encouraged and maybe even staged so Trump could get the photos and benefit from the backlash.”
Mehlhorn apologized on Sunday.
“Last night, I sent an email I now regret. I drafted and sent it without consulting my team. I have apologized to them directly. I also want to apologize publicly, without reservation, for allowing my words to distract from last night’s central fact: political violence took yet another innocent American life,” Mehlhorn said.
This is how leftists have always been. They want everyone they don’t approve of to just die, and they don’t care how. It’s just a good thing for the rest of us that leftists don’t still have the type of power they did in the 30’s and 40’s.
As someone who has been following politics for the past 20+ years, the reality is that the sentiment he espouses is what most if not all lib elites feel as well as the majority of Democrat politicians towards all Conservative Americans.
Same ■■■■ different century with them. When leftists are in power, if they aren’t enslaving people, they’re committing genocide.
When they’re not in power, they’re out in the streets committing domestic terrorism (sometimes even in matching uniforms) towards the undesirables in order to garner more support for their violent cause.
A (now fired) Congressional staffer is not all that “prominent” a person,
but it is ironic that Jacqueline Marsaw, was (until recently) the field director for Congressman Bennie G. Thompson who proposed removing Trump’s Secret Service security protection.
According to the Daily Mail
. . . Marsaw, who is also secretary, president and vice president of a local NAACP, was previously venerated as a ‘hometown hero’ by WJTV. . . .
If this situation was reversed and someone had made an attempt on Biden, the feds would be going after everyone who made social media posts like this. Since it was Trump, the leftists will skate once again.
It’s all about shutting down all dissent. Even using extreme measures like not providing Trump protection. It’s about stopping him. If he chooses to go forward anyway, it’s on him. That’s the mindset.
