unsure why you would want me to house people, something that is a government obligation.
Allan
its why people pay taxes.
its like you want me to fight in a war, when we have a military paid for by taxes.

Of the people. By the people
Government doesn’t have houses. You do.
Put your house where your mouth is.

No, they aren’t. There are no asylum conditions anywhere in South or Central America.

Exactly, none of this ■■■■■■■ rocket science, we are well aware of the conditions in these countries and know exactly why these record numbers of people are coming. And even if 2-3% of these people have legit asylum claims no responsible administration would allow EVERYONE in to come in and provide them asylum cases which won’t be adjudicated for another 5-10 years!

Has anyone ever really thought about why America needs millions of more migrants to fill low wage jobs when by 2040 they’re saying over 50% of these jobs will be automated. What is the logic, outside of trying to import voters in.

There’s NOT ANY OTHER INDUSTRIALIZED COUNTRY in the world with a high cost of living that conducts its immigration the way the Left in the United States does and wants. Even if one believes that there’s enough low wage dead end jobs for for these people, no rational country would incessantly import millions of uneducated, unskilled labor into their country who can’t even speak the ■■■■■■■ language.

You are wrong.
But for the sake of argument, even if you were not wrong, once they cross the border into Columbia, they have escaped their plight and should seek asylum there.
And if not there, then one of the next half dozen countries they travel through before hitting the Rio Grande.

not necessary.
from a united states govt website.
To be eligible for asylum, you must be:
Inside the United States
Able to demonstrate that you were persecuted or have a fear of persecution in your home country due to your:
Race
Religion
Nationality
Social group
Political opinion
thats it.
present yourself at a united states port of entry and apply for asylum.
Allan
This has been discussed before, first of all we KNOW what the conditions are in these countries, and secondly international agreements on asylum do not trump a nation’s sovereignty:
When you look at the history of asylum it was developed in reaction to wartime situations, not as a result of poverty, crime or any other negative social conditions that may plague many countries. The legal definition is very narrow and is only intended for unique situations:
Refugee status or asylum may be granted to people who have been persecuted or fear they will be persecuted on account of race, religion, nationality, and/or membership in a particular social group or political opinion.
