8900 in property taxes?
Wow.
We pay about 1500 a year on a 10 year old 2700 sq ft brick house.
Brentwood is a nice area. Not sure what williamson county taxes are but davidson (nashville) are sure enough high.
They are always thinking of new things to spend money on.
Not sure how they are coming on fighting the 34 percent increase.
Robertson county is probably much cheaper.
Wilson is a nice county with lots of nice stores, restaurants, and good medical care. Is getting a bit crowded for my taste though.
Dickson County isn’t a bad county. I went to school there.
I probably shouldn’t put this stuff out as it might draw libs.
3-4 weeks ago we were at 10k cases a day, we shut down dining in restaurants and a few other things and now we are in the 3-4k range, a 60% decrease while others are still spiking.
I think we are doing just fine, and she is doing a good job. Her polls certainly reflect that.
The army doesn’t have 4500 physicians waiting around doing nothing until they are deployed. I’m not sure where that number comes from, but those physicians are stationed and working somewhere. Maybe during typical times you could reallocate 4500 physicians, but being a pandemic they are likely needed where they are.
Even before the pandemic there was a physician shortage and states were barely meeting or short when it came to nurses. In all honesty it’s the nursing shortage that is the real issue. On the floor/ICU the nurse does 90+% of the patient care. One nurse can only care for so many critically ill patients needing near or complete care.
There is no standby pool of nurses and doctors waiting to be called in/redeployed. At the beginning of the pandemic, providers went to other areas (like New York) because other areas were relatively spared and relatively few providers were infected/quarantined. That is no longer the case.
People talk about retired nurses and physicians as a possible answer. That has problems of its own. Those that have retired are typically late 60s or older. That’s asking a high risk group to volunteer to work in an environment where they could be infected. Even if they got the vaccine today, it would be at least a month (efficacy 10 days after second dose is a typical metric) before they would have protection. Even with relaxed licensing laws, you’d still have to vet each provider to ensure they still had the knowledge and skills to care for patients.
Healthcare staff is a fixed commodity. There is no substantial backup pool. Everyone who can work within reason is currently working.

Heard a good idea from Local Radio Guy this morning: Every governor and mayor who orders a lockdown gets their check stopped for the duration of the lockdown. And their spouses.
Now we’re all in it together.

The majority of them are already rich, they wouldn’t miss it.

They’re greedy and living beyond their means. I think they would.
Bloomberg is a Mayor or Governor these days?

@zantax looking at some networths, you’re right. We’re going to need to do more. Maybe put a black out on market trades.

I saw 10, but your right. It would be more of a principle thing. Whitmir is apparently worth $200M.

We will never be in this together because these ■■■■■■■■ continue to dictate restrictions they themselves refuse to follow and then try to justify why they don’t have to follow their own edicts. Not sure what anyone could actually do to any of these jackasses that would actually have any true effect on them.

I guess it would be a bummer if you’re going out of your way to listen to recommendations from these people. Ignore them and it won’t bother you as much. I do. Lets be honest, how many people stay home except for essential activities? I didn’t even do that during the lockdown.

I don’t listen to them, so no worries there. lol
However, when they start jacking fines onto people for not following their little orders that they themselves flaunt it is no longer time to ignore them. Something needs to happen.

Businesses have no choice.
No ■■■■■ I’m talking about your average person.

If the businesses are shut down, there’s no place for the average person to go.
