I agree that the government has dropped the ball in a time of emergency. Some need help to get through this. That doesn’t change the simple fact that a rich, well fed individual with plenty of public dining options who dies of COVID or COVID related issues won’t recover. A person who struggles, hopefully with assistance if needed, still has the chance to recover and lead a meaningful life when this is over.

There’s a Cuban restaurant up the street from me (as an example).

I can buy chicken and rice with black beans, yuca for $15.00. (and it is darn good). I can feed two people for 3 days with the portions they serve.

To make that myself food+ ingredients + electricity + time costs a lot more.

Do you think this is only for the rich to take advantage of?

Folks who can financially afford to shelter in place should not cast stones at those who cannot. They are NOT getting help.

Yeah, I do. It’s all over the news.

Go into homes?

It’s easy for pols to overplay their hand. It’s easy for pols to take action that ignores the source of the problem. It’s easy for people who aren’t being shut down to support shut downs.

How many paychecks Newsome missed? How many have you missed?

The fatality rate for California today is 1.2%. It’s not a death sentence.

What about Whitmer in Michigan? Pennsylvania?

What was the death rate at this time last year and what percent can be attributed 100% to COVID-19, rhetorically speaking for perspective.

I feel the same way about them. Wolf has made it very difficult for the next governor of PA to be a Dem. that’s for sure!

Carry out or delivery. Don’t see the issue.

It is for those 1.2%. 1 in 100. Maybe we could list other widespread communicable diseases or voluntary activities that have a 1 in 100 fatality rate. For perspective.

How much work have you lost because of COVID?

Carry out and delivery doesn’t hire waitresses and dish washers.

Did you get the impression that two people are sitting in a restaurant eating a meal for three days?

The other 99 are going to die of something.

How many paychecks you missed because of this virus?

This is about me?

How many people have you pronounced dead from COVID? How many families have you called to tell their loved ones have died from COVID? How many COVID patients have you attempted to comfort as they are drowning of pulmonary edema in unimaginable fear? How many young healthy people have you watched die because they are an unlucky member of that “1.2%?”

The generic you, yes.

You do understand the nature of a pandemic? People are going to be caught up in it and there is not a whole lot you can do about it.

Your last statement is literally the reason why we are where we are.

The nature of a virus is why we are here.

A virus requires a host and a means of transmission. A virus without those is of no consequence. We are the host and we provide the means of transmission. The only variable which has been under our control thus far is transmission. We have not controlled transmission. If people want to blame a piece of RNA which can’t even self-replicate in order to avoid responsibility, that is their choice.

It’s about people being locked down and those supporting it.

How many?

I haven’t pronounced anybody dead. I lost some people I knew to it.

I also haven’t had a crew since March. I know fitters who are mowing lawns for diaper money. They are part of the 98.8%.

How many?

Easy to say when you haven’t missed a check.
