and the solution to it being robbed is to sue it! lol… liberals.

NRA has been committing fraud.
they are being punished for it.

your free to start NRA 2.0.

The Defendants listed in the suit are: The National Rifle Association Of America, INC., Wayne LaPierre, Wilson Phillips, John Frazer and Joshua Powell.

The four listed are the LaPiere (CEO), Phillips (CFO), Frazer (General Council) and Powell (VP Operations). Each one had oversight as to how money was accounted for. The complaint against the organization is that the Board Members and members of executive committees that had audit oversight either allowed or overlooked and therefore did not report violations of both NRA rules as well as State rules. As I understand, since there is no evidence as to which individuals on the board or committees approved the illegal acts, they can not be named individually. Therefore the entire organization becomes one of the Defendants.

The NRA hasn’t been committing anything. According to her some of its officers were defrauding it. When a bank president defauds a bank, do you sue the bank to get justice? No

Yes when the people running the bank are defauding their customers.
you very much go after the bank

no, you charge the individuals with bank fraud and you try them.

I do hope that somehow the firearm safety programs survive.
The suit filed is quite good reading. And you get about a forth of the way through it when you start to discover that the three guys that LaPiere hired (and now named co-defendants) did not have the knowledge or skills to do their jobs.

It seem LaPiere only concern was how to get rich.

State AGs are not prosecutors.

As a general rule, they do not prosecute anyone.

Yup. And he hired the guys he needed to do it. The most interesting is Frazer (General Council). It is quite clear that he didn’t have a clue about the legal basis for running a charitable organization. He simply didn’t know the laws and reporting requirements. I can see that if this thing sticks he will be dis-bared.
Hey, you and I could start another NRA. We could call it the GrandCanadian Gun Guys Club And Lobby Association. Maybe make some big bucks.

What? Banks are sued all the time civilly for fraudulent actions including the actions of their officers. Wells Fargo just agreed to pay 3 billion pursuant to a civil suit due to institutional fraud

If the actions permeate the institution you go after the institution.

ETA Oh and vicarious liability is part and parcel of American tort law

New York ag has the ability to prosecute criminally. Not sure if what the nra is being accused of falls within their purview

Obama created a whole legal department to soley charge banks and wall street firm for fraudulent claims

Then why are there no criminal charges?

How did the corporation break the law? Why are there no criminal charges?

There are some issues here but they are issues for The Membership of The NRA to work out.

Who was charged and with what crimes?

Accusations are not facts.

Why has no one been charged with a crime?

Of course you do… .

Nobody has been charged.
