Listen to NPR regularly and you will see there are far more opinions of different perspectives than other media outlets. Plus NPR provides quality programing that extends far beyond its news reporting.
This is a good article about the complexities of NPR funding. Yes less than 1% of it is directly funded by the Federal government but they benefit in other ways.

I listen to NPR occasionally. They repeat Democrat talking points and ridicule or ignore other viewpoints.
I have never heard a kind word about Trump or his supporters.
Feel free to point out examples to prove me wrong.

It’s a joke more than anything.
NPR does not tend to say kind words but report facts and have discussions.
You will just have to listen more than occasionally to get an accurate handle on how they report and analyze news stories.

Maybe the Righties are upset NPR does not put on wingnut extremists on, to give them credibility.
There are many conservatives on NPR, from Cato, AEI, National Review…hell they had a reporter on from Breitbart.

Compared to the standard you have set…that makes NPR moderate. Hell, many of you think FOX News is now left…or moderate at best. Hint, they are not.
Not sure how so many who do not listen to NPR know what their biases are perhaps its the posters biases showing.

I have mentioned this several times, but in the mid noughties several times a week NPR would dedicate prime time programming to not only report on those who had lost their lives in Iraq and Afghanistan but to do a detailed report on where they came from, why they joined, talked about them as a father, brother, son etc and got input from family and friends.
No other news outlet was doing anything remotely similar especially not conservative talk radio.

You might want to look into Jodi Kantor who investigated the claims and was instrumental in exposing Weinstein also Nyt published a huge story in Oct 17 which got the ball rolling.
Who else do you think exposed him and had their facts straight when they did.

Not sure what the mid noughties means, but as far as honing in on people who were killed in Iraq and Afghanistan, of course they would. For the same reason they honed in on Cindy Sheehan when Bush was President but dumped her as soon as Obama became President. Or for the same reason every single Covid death was a tragedy under Trump but pretty much put in the background when Biden became President.

Those who think not are probably even farther left than NPR.
