Now, the good part of the recent election in Wisconsin

In addition to the Supreme Court race, voters passed judgement on three referendums.

The first two ballot questions regarding toughening requirements for pre-trail release and giving judges more discretion to impose cash bail. Both passed by two to one margins. Conservative law and order certainly did very well at the ballot.

A third ballot measure was a non-binding referendum on whether welfare recipients should be required to look for work while receiving benefits. That passed with almost 80% support!!!

Certainly a conservative victory, even if it is non-binding.

At the same time that conservatives were losing the Supreme Court seat, they were blasting to victory on three ballot measures.

Abortion, losing issue for Republicans.

Law and order, winning issue for Republicans.

Welfare reform, winning issue for Republicans.

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is the lesson to be learned from the 2023 Wisconsin election.

What you fail to realize is that most people aren’t anti abortion to win elections. Republicans may have a hard time winning being against abortion but they can’t win without anti abortionists either.

how long till they reinstate ballot harvesting?

Non-binding referendum for lazy takers to get off their ass and look for work.

That’ll do, pig! That’ll do!

How did Wisconsin and Minnesota get in such sorry shape? What happened?

It’s likely that Dobbs did impact the 2022 midterms.

I’m guessing the average voter trusts the Republicans on common sense issues that center around economy and crime - but reproductive rights issues are a gift to the Dems.
