Yeah, apparently we’re not supposed to touch parts if the body like eyes—at least not without washing hands—to avoid spreading the virus.
Yet what do some of those writing off workers as “inessential” think some poor soul with bangs overgrown & irritating their eyes will do? Hairdressers inessential?
Some have even expressed interest in noticing changes in warts or moles their clients wouldn’t see to get them to a dermatologist. That routine eye exam written off by some as “if you don’t have any problems at this time, we’re not seeing routine patients at this time” may detect changes that may be associated with everything from diabetes to an auto immune disorder called myasthenia gravis (symptoms for most start with double vision)
I kind if understand the “inessential” in will my life be over without a session on a tanning bed or tattoo, but even these employees need to eat, & probably won’t respond well to isolation. Here’s another:
Some consider gym workouts inessential, but they are a source of cardiovascular & weight training exercises to live a healthier lifestyle. We’re beyond the point where forced shutdowns will help anyone, really, will do more harm.

What about all the sports leagues who have opened up or beer stores that never shut down, are they essential to live or are they just essential to certain people?
Testing doesn’t seem to be helping the NFL right now yet you can’t blame them wanting to put food on the table and not wanting be considered non-essential it holds more to the salon worker as they probably don’t have millions in assets to hold them over like players in the NFL. If a person was making a living they are essential to someone.

I actually walked out on a FB group when I realized my posts, even though I had been a member for awhile, were “pending moderator approval.” I guess not liking new species like blue & white mask crawlers & purple glove birds is hate speech now
Posts dissing those earning money in trades as varied as electronics & jewelry to artists and athletes were allowed. “Support your farmers ‘cause we were running to the grocery store when this made the news.”
I wasn’t running anywhere. A more sensible woman came right out and said “I guess the job losses incurred by those working in the arts or sports don’t matter to you. What a shame!”
She’s right. Coaching gymnastics & teaching dance get kids some level of physical activity, and these professionals have a passion for their arts & sports they put their hearts & souls into sharing with others just to be called “inessential workers”.
Here’s my opinion of those wanting to divide workers & send some home:
Close fists, raise middle fingers.
Some of these leftist pols were working out in gyms & getting haircuts while the rest of us took walks around the block, or made use of messy hair.

I’m a newlywed in the same way I let my wife cut my hair (She said she could) and she basically gave me the haircut the main baddie guard had on Schindler’s list.
I knew I was in for it when she kept laughing while cutting, pulled out the sheers on the back and sides not touching the 4 inches on top and not letting me see it. I’m glad I’m working from home that’s why salons imho are essential.

My wife was a hairdresser when we met. I haven’t been to a barber in 50 years.
