Looks like Keith Richards will live forever so you should be good

Don’t get caught up in semantics. Australia is an island continent. No other country shares any part of it. And it is nearly as isolated as Antarctica.

I would tell folks who don’t like what’s happening here or in Europe to go to New Zealand, except they are not letting anyone in.

Another rise in cases … another lockdown.

I think by 50-60% effective they are talking of the population in general … i.e. counting people who do not get vaccinated. Personally, I could give a ■■■■ if other people don’t get vaccinated as long as the double shot gives me 100% protection.

I say no more than a year.

this is false. 71% of people who did not do any of those things and got covid wore a mask and 74% who did. the difference is statistically insignificanr

6 months tops

those talking 50-60% are comparing it to flu vaccine. apples and oranges. estimates i’ve seen are closer to 85%

The mask is primarily so you don’t infect others.

You’re probably right. The only people who would continue to obsess over masks are the same ones who will be first in line to be vaccinated. Assuming the vaccine is as effective as they say it may be, the number of cases will plummet because the mask wearers will be vaccinated. Sell your stock in PPEs early …

Where I live, too.

I’m really hoping the hypocrite in charge doesn’t lock the place down. In all honesty, his revised orders don’t look that unreasonable.

On the other hand, I find it odd the attempts to regulate behaviors not many people are engaged in committing. A simple three word Who does this? suffices.

Who in a a state where both medicinal & recreational marijuana are legal seeks to buy it after 10 PM (I suppose if you’re meeting a long time dealer in the woods), but other than that…? It wasn’t that common to see other grocery shoppers even at 6 AM before COVID 19.

Midnight grocery run, anyone? Wouldn’t be surprised if in more sparsely populated areas a lack of customers, rather than a virus, stopped stores from remaining open.

Compared with worse possibilities, though, this should be tolerable. Idiot in my workplace thinks a total shutdown for a month would have stopped the virus dead in its tracks.

“Everyone except essential workers should have been sent home.” Who the hell is she to decide whose essential, and what after living a prison like existence.

Forget that!

I never liked the term essential worker, even though I guess I was one since I kept my job as well as worked. It is very demeaning, I mean “Hey Joe your not essential to this country” how uplifting is that. I would rather be called a ■■■■ than non-essential.

Me, too.

Agree 100% with columnists like Pat Buchanan that those so called non essential jobs are putting food on the table for someone & am failing to see how isolating, which can lead to depression & suicide, will help stop the virus.

How long do you isolate? If a treatment or vaccine is ever found, have you become agoraphobic you’ve “sheltered in place” for so long?

Even the parlance of the pandemic is moronic. Feh!

So until you catch covid. I mean, because that ■■■■ has killed 99% of those infected.

Considering the way I look after a month and a half of not having my haircut I can definitely say beauty salons are essential workers and I’m sure that goes for a hell of a lot more industries.

99%? I don’t think so.
