Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg attempted to throw cold-water on the possibility of another Donald Trump nominee joining the Supreme Court over the weekend; saying she has approximately five years left before planning her retirement.

Ginsburg was speaking in New York City Sunday when she was asked on whether she planned to step-down from the nation’s highest court during President Trump’s first term; adding she hopes to serve until her 90th birthday.

“I’m now 85,” Ginsburg said. “My senior colleague, Justice John Paul Stevens, he stepped down when he was 90, so think I have about at least five more years.”

“My dear spouse would say that the true symbol of the United States is not the bald eagle – it is the pendulum,” Ginsburg added. “And when it goes very far in one direction you can count on its swinging back.”

Ginsburg’s comments come as Sen. Rand Paul threw his full support behind Trump’s most recent court pick, saying he will vote to confirm Judge Brett Kavanaugh when his confirmation comes before the Senate.

That’s nice. She should consider though that her vote will be meaningless in a few months and she is gonna be completely irrelevant from that point on.

Why waste her time and ours being useless??

Hardly useless.

Many times the court does not split along the conservative/liberal divide. It is very likely that Ginsburg will be in the majority on a significant number of cases that don’t have a conservative/liberal angle.
